@kylewm @ben.thatmustbe.me @emmackuo A couple years ago I was experimenting with sending POST requests to your domain (but could easily be updated to delegate the way webmention does) We had it working on two or three sites. @t don't think tweets belong my site. They're about distribution and I want the best distribution. My site (https://ouvre-boite.com)
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 @t At this point I don't read my Twitter timeline anymore, I mostly find tweets from hashtag searches and when other people send them to me. I would, however, be happy to see your tweets on your site or in your RSS feed so I don't miss anything. #indieweb

@aaronpk I think it's more important to be heard than to speak :)
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 I'm all for p2p distribution using PuSH, but we have to start somewhere! Using Twitter for distribution is a good bootstrap. #indieweb

@aaronpk because POSSE means you focus on publishing and rely on others to distribute.
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 What good is controlling distribution if you don't even control the content? Start by owning your content instead of posting directly to Twitter. #indieweb

And the #indieweb movement cruelly misses this point: on the web owning is worthless if you do not control distribution.
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 Not sure I understand why you think #indieweb misses the point?

@aaronpk Next time you post pizza pics please add them to your RSS feed too :) YUM!
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 I don't know how to put images in my RSS feed, but it's there in my home page HTML feed as an h-entry!

When I was in college studying CS, music composition and Linguistics simultaneously (not the best plan it turns out) I dreamed of making this exact app. Thanks for this, it's amazing!

Keyboard shortcut to reload the file

I'd love to have a keyboard shortcut to reload the png file, so that I can make some edits in photoshop and come back and hear them without going through the "open" menu again!

    Use full URL for client_id.

If you use a full URL for `client_id`, then you can get the IndieAuth server to show app info during authorization! Use h-x-app markup to point to the app's name and logo. https://indiewebcamp.com/h-x-app

Last call, here's how to ditch Typekit and Google Fonts, speed up your site and go all #indieweb with your webfonts: http://www.thenotepad.org/blog/how-to-encode-webfonts

@joeld This is awesome, thanks! No more "waiting for googlefonts.com..." I hope! #indieweb

@aaronpk @rhiaro I need a webmentions endpoint and all that gubbins, too. I've got the bit between my teeth now. I'm going the full hog.

Great talk from @rhiaro at @techmeetup last night. Now I have to completely rewrite my website to make it #indieweb IndyMark-compliant.
    Aaron Parecki
@johnnieingram @rhiaro @techmeetup haha hopefully not *completely* rewrite! Should only take adding a couple of CSS classes! #indieweb

@aaronpk @rhiaro Email is totally anti-#indieweb. Loose federation, open, interoperable protocols & 30+ year history of self-hosting.

    Ick!
    Aaron Parecki
@obra @rhiaro Hey I've got nothing against the protocol, works great for private communications! It's just not a good way to build a community or have productive public discussion.

@aaronpk @julien51 What is this, 2002? Don't be that guy. Some of us lost family in the RSS Wars.
    Aaron Parecki
@lmorchard @julien51 Can we just call them "feed readers" since that's what they actually are?

Still no better way to start the day catching up with news in an RSS Reader :)
    Aaron Parecki
@julien51 I assume you mean "RSS" in the general sense? encompassing RSS 0.9 1.0 1.1 2.0 and Atom

.@kevinMarks @t what's participation in indieweb like thus far? Which CMS platform has the best integration to help jumpstart an IW newb?
    Aaron Parecki
    @Shoq @KevinMarks @t http://withknown.com is an out-of-the-box platform. There's also good Wordpress support with some plugins! #indieweb

@aaronpk @kylewm2 -- it does support that. where did you get the idea it was only blog posts.
    Aaron Parecki
@davewiner oh okay. I saw "Each item has a headline, short description, a link to the story" which implied blog post to me. (from http://scripting.com/2014/06/02/whatIsARiverOfNewsAggregator.html)

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
