@aaronpk seems happier using tornado client, but now getting a 400 error
    Aaron Parecki
@sammachin a 400 error seems like something I might be able to help with. Hop on IRC so we can talk better? http://indiewebcamp.com/irc/today?beta#bottom

@sammachin @aaronpk You might need to install additional dependencies for SNI support if you're on Python 2.x: https://github.com/jakubroztocil/httpie#https
    Aaron Parecki
@jakubroztocil @sammachin oh yeah I've heard bad things about SNI support in Python 2

@aaronpk ... http: error: SSLError: hostname 'http://indieauth.com' doesn't match either of 'mail . indieweb . org', 'indieweb . org’”
    Aaron Parecki
@sammachin I'm guessing your HTTP client does not support SNI.

New from me: "Don't like Facebook owning and controlling your content? Use tools that support the open Web" http://gigaom.com/2014/09/03/dont-like-facebook-owning-and-controlling-your-content-use-tools-that-support-the-open-web/
    Aaron Parecki
@mathewi Great post! Minor clarification, http://indiewebcamp.com/POSSE is the *model* of posting to your site first, and syndicating copies to sites Facebook and Twitter. It is not any particular tool or technology.

Really love http://www.slideshare.net/aaronpk/an-introduction-to-oauth-2 … from @aaronpk seems it is one of the best summary of #oauth2.

I flew from PDX to SFO (https://vimeo.com/104991690) and back again (https://vimeo.com/104991795). I really like how the first video turned out.
    Aaron Parecki
@reidab Nice! What camera did you use?

@notenoughneon I need to update OwnYourGram to also send video files. Right now it just sends the cover frame of the video as a photo post! Issue opened on Github! https://github.com/aaronpk/OwnYourGram/issues/4

@www.marcus-povey.co.uk While it's not yet live, I am setting things up to render cached versions of avatars on my site. The reasons that motivated me doing this were different, but you point out another great reason to do so.

@veganstraightedge Unfortunately I think this was disabled in the new Airport Utility and new Airport.

Coincidentally, this is exactly why I run my own DHCP server at home, I have a realtime log of all devices that connect. Also see: http://aaronparecki.com/replies/2014/04/28/3/homeautomation

Sorry to hear about all this, quite an awful story!!

@aaronpk @GetReporter @bmndr Never! The Point for me is random samples - best statistical data practice.
    Aaron Parecki
@anomalily @GetReporter @bmndr I lean heavily more towards the "complete dataset" side of things, which has its own set of problems.

@aaronpk @GetReporter @bmndr My data reflects “breakfast” with a higher frequency than other daily activities because of report timing.
    Aaron Parecki
@anomalily Do you not make manual reports ever? I usually make more manual reports than prompted ones. @GetReporter @bmndr

@bmndr @anomalily That’s true. It’s a trade-off between true randomness and randomness that seems broken.
    Aaron Parecki
@GetReporter @bmndr @anomalily Actually the current randomness does seem quite broken. I'm often pinged literally seconds after making a manual report.

    @tmcw That's a great chart! Minor nit-pick, shapefiles are technically a database, there's a dBASE file included.

"An ESRI shapefile consists of a main file, an index file, and a dBASE table." from http://www.esri.com/library/whitepapers/pdfs/shapefile.pdf
