    Aaron Parecki
@PDXYelp what kind of involvement are you looking for from a local restaurant?

@aaronpk I remember when I had reusable contact lenses, though. It was a habit but also a hassle taking care of external prosthetics.
    Aaron Parecki
@caseorganic Would you switch to glasses if they had an Internet-connected display?

@caseorganic Yes! Now imagine the entire street with that behavior. (This is what I was talking about in SF w/you) We will all look crazy.
    Aaron Parecki
@AnthroPunk Once in-glasses or contact lens displays become popular this won't be an issue anymore. Looking forward to it! /cc @caseorganic

so I'm experimenting with a way to automatically tweet about the new friends I add on twitter. cool folks. good or bad idea?
    Aaron Parecki
@marshallk Agreed. I have an account @pkbot dedicated to automatic updates from flickr/4sq/etc so I don't spam people from my normal account

    Aaron Parecki
@marshallk I don't really want to see your new twitter friends mixed in with your other tweets. As a stream on your site, maybe.

@aaronpk That gluten free cupcake looks too good to be true! Thanks for the recipe link. Our gluten free friends are going to be thrilled.
    Aaron Parecki
@mycupcakeday It is a deceptively good cupcake! Not too sweet, and still enjoyed by gluten-eating chocolate lovers!

@aaronpk You had to use the .pk framework, which was a certain kind of CMS. All tdl's had limitations, websites instantly identifiable.
    Aaron Parecki
@caseorganic That's hilarious! Except for that you're actually describing the .tel domain. http://aaron.tel (not me)

@stazeii It's a Windows Mobile (yuck) phone. But it's got a real GPS device and it can run in the background. Works well.

@stazeii Gets a little more complicated when you want to do tracking and reporting. I also have a bookmarklet to shorten a URL quickly.

    @stazeii Yea, it's not difficult. A MySQL table and a mod_rewrite. I used @t's NewBase60 algorithm http://tantek.pbworks.com/w/page/19402946/NewBase60

@stazeii I carry a GPS tracker which auto-uploads to a DB. Occasionally I download a copy and do some post processing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aaronpk/sets/72157623306420643/

@stazeii Yes, personal GPS logs at roughly 6-second intervals. From June 2008 to present. Now adding "at work or not" boolean to the table.

@aaronpk wasn't Wave going to solve that? ;)
    Aaron Parecki
@justinkistner I'm convinced there can be no solution other than a distributed system, one based on OpenID, open syndication protocols, etc.
