  • I think this is going to work! I gutted an iMac G5 that had a broken display, and am swapping the display with the guts of a new 17" monitor! Gotta let the epoxy set, then I can wire it back up!

  • yeah I don't think I'm going to be able to bend this back into shape.
  • Today I spent way too long iterating on the design for this over-the-top bicycle trailer workstation cart contraption. I've got a lot of things in mind to use it for, so I think I'm going to do it. The only question is whether this will be too top-heavy and at risk of tipping. Most of the weight is at the bottom, and I'll usually be hauling a giant battery at the base too, so it might be fine. Worst case I can always just remove the top part later.
  • Long day of meetings, but I did have a kitten curled up in my lap for some of them
  • The painters finished the stain on the range hood and took down their plastic sheeting, looks so good! Next up picking out cabinet hardware.
  • Today I went around and took pictures of all the cabinets to make a list of what cabinet hardware to buy. Turns out there are lots of rules about how cabinet hardware should be placed, but also you can break a lot of the rules. I think I have it figured out though.
  • The painters are working on the last bits here and there, painting the picture rail and staining the handrail.
  • I found my old iPod and charged it up and it still works! It even still has music on it. I'm only a little offended these are now being sold on eBay as retro tech.
  • Tonight I made a batch of vegan mac and cheese mix to restock the cabinet. It's so nice to be able to just add oat milk and mix up a nice sauce!
  • I installed the door code keypads today! It took so long before we were ready to install them that UniFi launched a new version that I bought instead, so the back plate is the wrong size. It matched the tall skinny UniFi readers so well, but I like this keypad better so here we are.
  • We really have to make a decision about the kitchen backsplash tile now! I got two more sample boxes in this week.
  • The new Instax from arrived! Special pink edition only available in Japan, which ironically I had seen in person in Hong Kong just a few weeks ago, but assumed I would be able to buy it in the US. So I had to buy it from a third party shipper instead.
  • Dehydrated a bunch of veggies overnight to use as ramen toppers for super fast ramen making.
  • 📍 Kate’s Ice Cream
  • Sunny skies, bikes, a whole lot of fun, and only a little rain! 🚲🚲🚲 The Ladds 500 took over Ladd's Circle park today, with hundreds joining in to ride around and around and around! Relay, race, parade, or party - call it whatever you want, just remember to have fun! #Ladds500 #PDX #PDXbikes #BikeSummer
