bets on whether aaronpk makes it back to Portland tonight? I'm still on BART and my flight boards in 6 minutes
Just filed my first credit card dispute. Someone at @parksideaustin changed my $5 tip to $15, good thing I took a picture of my receipt. And thanks to @CapitalOne for sending me an email alert about the unusually high tip!
Pretty disappointed @final is shutting down. Their app was actually pretty well done! I've only had the card 14 months so that's gonna be a negative hit to my credit score for a while. Any other good virtual credit card providers out there?
.bot domains are available (kind of) as of today! https://www.amazonregistry.com/bot
Unfortunately they are kinda spendy. $75/yr for normal domains, $750 for two-letter and other select words, and $7500 for one-letter and special words like "weather.bot"
Has anyone turned the Lil Bub Yule Log videos into a physical picture frame? I kind of want to do that.
Wouldn't be hard to stick a few on a USB drive and play them in a loop. Just need to find an appropriately decadent frame to mount a screen in...
Things are coming together with the STREAMPDX podcast studio! We just posted our fall lineup of podcasting classes. We're teaching three podcasting classes, "Interviewing Techniques," "Podcast Editing in Audacity," and "Publishing your Podcast". I'm teaching the publishing class! Each class is limited to 8 spots, and we're running them through November and December!
If you've been thinking about getting in to podcasting, this is a great chance to learn some new things and check out our studio!
Had my own IndieWebCamp-from-home during IWC Berlin weekend! Got to at least join for remote demos though!
I launched Stories on my website, which I talked briefly about in my latest Percolator episode here: https://percolator.today/episode/11
I also reduced the loading time of my website by switching my silo profile icons from individual favicons to an icon font. They're also all a uniform color now which I think helps make them not stand out as much as they did before. I also switched the map background on my site from a 1.3mb png to a 300kb jpg file.
Really enjoyed watching all the other demos from Berlin, looks like it was a great weekend!
