On Twitch, DMCA takedowns, and bans:

You CAN’T play music on stream unless you have/pay for the licensing.

Just giving credit by showing name and title or providing your song list is the same energy as asking an artist to work for exposure.

Folks in music tech who are looking for ways to help: Now would be a good time to remove "master"/"slave" terminology everywhere. Oscillator sync, MIDI, etc. There are better terms in every case.

Blogs = still the best representation of the Internet’s promise. Everyone should have a site that they own, not just a social media account (which are great for promoting blog posts).

I want to remind you that statues aren’t history books and that taking one down isn’t erasing history. It’s more like finally taking a Sublime poster off your wall. It’s over. Let’s move on.

False news on private Facebook groups have brought out frightened, gun-clutching people to small towns all over the country, expecting influxes of the dreaded "antifa" to show up.
Instead, they find a small, peaceful demonstration, & no antifa

People are asking, “You expect cops to remain calm even when they’re being yelled at, threatened, or attacked?”

Yes. I expect them to be trained to remain calm. Trained to de-escelate. That’s the only way they ensure our safety and theirs.
