The Echo Show is great. But, @amazon: did you know that (a) this is a terrible way to have to login (especially for my mom), (b) there is a better way and (c) the majority of apps that run on your FireTV devices use it? (https://oauth.net/2/device-flow/)

This might shock some of you.

But Gary(actually me) could not care less in anyway about video frame rates.

If you are uploading content to the internet it’s absolutely the most ridiculous thing to waste brain power on.

To follow up on my thoughts about conferences.

    1. The speaker perks were usually to get a T&E trip to a city to present. That will not happen for online events - how can conferences justify paying for a conference but not paying a speaker when they get nothing in return?

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
