Just asked for W3C to eliminate the role of the Director (a pseudo-dictatorship), and to redistribute power & authority from the W3C Team to the members & community.

We put so much pressure on ourselves as millennials.

We want a six figure income, the love of our life, a successful entrepreneurial side hustle, to travel every few months, a stable gym routine, 7-8 hours of sleep, work/life balance and mental/emotional stability.

Unsurprisingly, my immediate thought upon seeing the Monzo oven design challenge was: how could an abusive ex would use this?

Safety can’t be an afterthought – people can and will use the tools we build for evil, and we need to anticipate that in advance. https://alexwlchan.net/2018/09/assume-worst-intent/

Every foo and bar in technical documentation or slides is a wasted opportunity.

It fails to illustrate WHY what you're talking about is useful, what for, and to get your audience to relate. Nobody relates to foo and bar. People relate to use cases.

I used to use Hipmunk to book flights but they were recently shut down by the giant enterprise software company that bought them a while back. I went to their URL on a whim and was redirected to a statement from the enterprise software company:

"Why is SAP Concur retiring Hipmunk and Concur Hipmunk?

Simply put, our approach to providing integrated T&E management has evolved."

That "simply put" is doing a lot of heavy lifting
