I just want to take a few bytes of your Internet to thank the people who interact with my stuff on social media and, by extension, my website. it’s been a year since I officially joined the #indieWeb, and each interaction makes the project worth my time.

Honestly I don't care either way, I just stand by 30fps because I find it funny to be successful in ways that irritate the "filmmaker" crowd in my comments section.

I just realized I find a modem connection sound soothing because it marked a clear and intentional separation between ONLINE and not online. You made a choice when you were ready to experience online things. But now? It’s baked into everything by default.

I was involved in the hiring decisions on most of those people, and I can say confidently: the secret to a diverse team isn’t having a pool of mostly homogenous candidates and then picking the one that looks different.

It’s having a diverse pool, and then picking the best.

Reminds me of the quote from Teller (of Penn & Teller) – "Sometimes magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect."

The decision of something being a good technical fit and something being a sound investment is often not done by the same person, so it would be a complex obstacle.

I would much prefer support to be a progressive enhancement that can be dealt with in parallel to shipping stuff.
