Sounds like a great time! Glad you all had fun! Also, don’t feel pressure to rename it to Homebrew Website Club. At the last Organizers Meetup, IndieWeb Meetup was actually discussed as a likely possible rebranding of HWC, so you all might just be ahead of the curve! When I relaunch my local meetup, I’ll be calling it IndieWeb Meetup as well!

i remember my mp3 player, one of those clickwheel ipods, and it was just a hard drive with a headphone jack. you could boot and partition the hard drive or add music by just loading files -- things that today would be considered wicked hacks on proprietary systems were a matter of drag-and-drop in 2003.

I admire Aaron for his capability and willingness to be on road, traveling so often. It takes efforts to keep your mind fresh and body energized to fly around places. But some part of me also envy him that he gets to visit such fascinating locations and meet such diverse set of people all along. No doubt his perspective towards things is so genuine.

Travel makes you earnest. Wish I had means, and importantly zeal, to travel more.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
