LOL! We moved so I don't live there any more!
BUT I keep a page of "straight text" for when I need to copy and paste into forms!

Funny to hear from you! I was thinking about Indy web this morning and how much autonomy you have been teaching for a decade!
    Aaron Parecki
It's a little terrifying that it's been that long tbh! Still living and breathing it though, including how I'm writing this post!

I'm one of those pet owners that has a manual for when I go away and an online database for my VET to interact with me through.

We really need to be focusing as much resilience as we can for each of us.
    Aaron Parecki
Did you just put your front door code on the internet ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I love it though, this is much prettier than the page of text I leave for mine.

But what especially grabs me is how *seedy* these words generally are. Consider the above examples, along with turncoat (traitor), lickspittle (toady), skinflint (miser), turnkey (gaoler), scofflaw (criminal), lackwit (fool), cutthroat (murderer) or sellsword (mercenary).

Sucks for the people at Figma that have to convince themselves and others that this is great news.

And for the folks at Adobe working on whatever the thing was that Figma was dominating.

Ugh, Iโ€™m doing my roof and gutters. What is the best way to get solar panels? I assume the โ€œfor freeโ€ people are a bit scammy?
    Aaron Parecki
Don't go the "for free" route. It's not actually a scam, but it's basically an agreement that you'll keep the panels for a fixed period of time like 15-20 years, which can really mess things up for future owners of the house. Ask me how I know ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ™ƒ

California's antitrust case against Amazon feels anachronistic, like a witchcraft charge, or some other ancient crime that we no longer prosecute. It's true, antitrust spent 40 year in a coma! The Amazon case neatly illustrates how it was sedated, and why it finally roused. 1/

To all OS and Browser developers out there. There's not, and never will be, a moment were I want to close all my apps and tabs wait for a restart and update and then reopen all my apps and tabs. It's on you to figure out how to do it in the middle of the night without me noticing

Today was supposed to be me mostly celebrating the book I gave over 9 months of my life toโ€ฆ

But I spent half of it debating the ethics of YouTube Educators w/ someone convinced that we have to be unethical bc $$$

    The lesson.

Meeting is doneโ€ฆ PBOT will share proposal w added promised features and give folks until this Monday (emails of everyone were gathered) to sign off on it. Then itโ€™s full steam ahead.

If I've missed a message from you it's not because I'm too busy, it's because no human being can routinely check email, text, Signal, Whatsapp, Telegram, Discord and DM's on every social platform... lol

How are you all doing it?

Turns out if you buy someone an @AlaskaAir flight with your airline miles, it gets added to your own Alaska account, and then you get push notifications when their flight starts boarding and have a mild panic because you thought you were supposed to be at the airport

The cat who was completely obsessed with my bump when I was pregnant is quite uninterested in the baby now that she's out. It's a weird way to find out that my cat is a Republican.
