This concept from The Verge also aligns with the @indiewebcamp philosophy of building and maintaining your presence online from your own site and only syndicating it elsewhere: https://indieweb.org/POSSE

The last car I owned was a 1985 Volvo, and this is just one of the many reasons I have no interest in owning a car ever again https://twitter.com/motherfuton/status/1569123477143318528

Touch screen UI’s in cars are going to kill someone. It forces me to look at the screen instead of the road. Physical knobs and sliders allowed you to use your sense of touch to replace your eyes.

Someone just told me I needed to add “in my opinion” to all my videos on YouTube… dude my YouTube channel IS my opinion. Like that’s what every single video is…🙄
    Aaron Parecki
In my opinion, that is absolutely ridiculous

Ultimately what this excessively publicized "seen from space" story is about is a parking lot.
    Aaron Parecki
like I said, that doesn't make it okay. I'm glad they at least think about traffic flow, but it's kind of a ridiculous situation in the first place.

We received an email asking why Sunday's single lightning bolt over the Portland's West Hills was so incredibly loud. Thanks Bix for asking! It's an ~10x stronger "positive"polarity bolt than the far more frequent "negative" ones. Here's the details: https://www.weather.gov/jetstream/positive #ORwx

So there's a particular quirk of English grammar that I've always found quite endearing: the exocentric verb-noun compound agent noun.

It appears in a definite, remarkably narrow period - not more than 150, 200 years - before dying out, leaving loads of legacy words in its wake.

That’s exactly it - if you’re coming from android doing what these people did totally makes sense
    Aaron Parecki
I haven't even used an android phone since like 2010 and this still doesn't make sense to me 😅 It's just not a good prompt

But really, the take away, is in this country whether it's guns or cars, we're fine with killing kids once they're born. But a fetus in someone's womb is precious.
