@aaronpk I’m not sure if it’s a new feature or if my computer just didn’t work right before — but the clicking on a comment to “undisplay” it is really nice! No need to remember to click “clear” anymore.

If you pick up the phone when they call, you're not connected to the 800#. You're connected to whatever number they called from. That's an autocaller script. Once you press 1 or 2 or whatever, it forwards you to the person who is doing the actual scam via VOIP.
Right so this isn't a voicemail based scam, it was just an accident that it left a voicemail then -

That’s a new scam. I got this voicemail. Looked up the number and it didn’t show up as anything, so I called back anyway. “Party line”. Probably charged me $20 per minute for the three seconds I was one. Damnit.
Wait, 800 numbers by definition charge the owner of the number not the caller. What happened now?
