Hey, remember when we thought it would be cool to store a couple million emails into a MySQL database, including their text/html parts?

    Hahaha, yeah, good times >.<

That table's somewhere around 28GB now.

I mean, it didn't *not* work...

Surely you would want to host your own mail?
    Aaron Parecki
Oh I really don't. I used to, but it was a losing battle.

@Fastmail live up to the name, have a better UI and all around better features
    Aaron Parecki
I've heard pretty much only goo things about Fastmail, maybe it's time to finally give it a try. Only problem is I'd have to also migrate my family to it since we share a domain name for email.

There are pockets of the old web and attempts at revival. There is a whole retro html revival going on. And also the folks at http://indieweb.org are creating blog based alternatives to corp. social network silos so that blogs can converse with each other.

The easy trick is to play intro music and run a countdown timer while people trickle in. It gives people a chance to adjust their headphones/speaker volume, and also gives them a concrete time they know things will start.

Never buy a filmmaker any equipment they haven’t specifically asked for. It would be like trying gift Elon Musk a starter telescope so he could use it with his space stuff.

Why isn't secure coding skill tested for during job interviews? Honest question, is it just historical circumstance or something else - it has to be at least as important as knowing not to nest too many for-loops.
