many of the laser-based pm sensor packages, such as novapm, treat high humidity as pm material. I don't know if steam works or not, but you'd need to steam the place up and then dehumidify for an accurate reading. Steam might also humidify the place which helps sinuses. idk
    Aaron Parecki
It's the opposite, the sensor reads a room full of fried oil as a huge spike but isn't reacting to this steam at all

So I heard a rumor that boiling a bunch of water to create steam helps improve the air quality but after over an hour my sensor has proven otherwise.

quick gif showing how i made my latest thumbnail in keynote using a shot taken with the #pixel4a.

keynote is so good for thumbnails. i keep a running document for them all so i can see how i'm flowing from one thumbnail to the next.

I deleted my previous tweet because it turns out the email was legit. Thanks to @missdr_williams for clearing that up. However, I recommend never encrypting PR docs in an email, because then Gmail can't scan them for viruses and it looks suspect. Gotta stay frosty out there, fam.
    Aaron Parecki
oof that is 100% a suspicious email though, and *exactly* the kind of thing that leads to account takeovers. Even better than sending a PR doc in an email would be to send a link to a website that requires a password. The browser is way safer than downloading anything.

Male. Age 8; ate a Ritz biscuit in two bites. Made to stand in the corridor because I was being a “little pig.”

Nice! If you're willing to pay $40 for it! It's like $17 on aliexpress if you can wait 3 weeks. $30 on amazon for a little longer.

Do you have photos of the ESP8266 + PMS5003 setup? I've been looking into putting an air quality sensor together myself.

It’s more or less plug and play if you’re using esphome! Power, ground, TX/RX pins, not much to it!

Went on a bike ride down to the waterfront today. The air isn't all that much worse outside than inside this point especially with an N95 mask, so thought it'd be a fun adventure.

It's hard to describe just how bad the air is, but this is what it actually looks like in Portland right now. I know it looks like a cheap Instagram filter but this is pretty much the real color outside.
