More news from the free Virtual Events front lines...

We're consistently seeing "conference-style" events lose 25-50% of their viewership over the course of the event.

We're consistently seeing daily/weekly events grow in viewership.

Not sure why we're still doing conferences.

Kindly gtfo with your sugar vinegar with a little bit of tomato, Tomasso. He’s going to ruin his masterpiece.

In a world full of Zoom calls, I’ve found this useful:

❌ “Can everyone see my screen?”
    - awkward pause
    - 99% of the time they do

✅ “I’m assuming you can see my screen now. Let me know if not”
    - communicating expectations
    - no awkward pause

I wonder if that is just a UI mistake? should be <input disabled /> if the top one is unchecked I would think....

I think you might be giving the Twitter ad machine too much credit 😉

if you turned off "Personalize ads" in your Twitter settings then maybe the ad isn't about you

I haven't visited this page in ages. This looks like one of those things where they added some checkboxes later and defaulted them to "on"

Banning TikTok in the US is probably good because it's important to support our own sketchy data collecting apps made in the USA 🇺🇸

I've had some complaints that the Cam Link's latency is way higher than I report, hundreds of ms.
While USB chipsets definitely play a role, I just re-tested mine, on front-panel ports no less, and still 66ms here.
    Aaron Parecki
Do you happen to know if those reports are from people with dual core machines instead of 4+ cores? I've heard similar complaints about the ATEM Mini and am trying to track this down.

Sure— and I practice the same, ish (that post came from my site), but platforms have increasingly closed down in ways that make POSSE less effective (by not allowing syndication).

On the creative side, very little seems as simple as say, building interesting Instagram Stories.
    Aaron Parecki
on the other hand, POSSE doesn't have to mean automatic POSSE. It's still a reasonable tactic to manually syndicate your content to platforms you care about that don't have an API.
