Yes. I expect them to be trained to remain calm. Trained to de-escelate. That’s the only way they ensure our safety and theirs.

As others have said: Teachers do this. Nurses do this.

I refuse to use “whitelist”/“blacklist” or “master”/“slave” terminology for computers. Join me. Words matter.

I'm a pretty calendar oriented person, so being able to totally fill up the rest of Junes content slots with videos I'm excited about is a good block to check for a Saturday.

I know. It would be good to see a blog on this decision (and why it is important to Mapbox) - it seems like something that should be aired for much broader discussion.

1. Police decided to violently quell protests to loudly proclaim they won’t change.
2. The strategy backfired because we now have 100’s of videos of cops using excessive force. Ppl who didn’t think police brutality was an issue last week now believe police reform to be essential.

As a white person there is nothing to lose by assuming you are a racist and striving to be better. I have racist instincts and I fight against them all the time. Let's all reognize our sickness and try to get well.
