I care deeply about Black lives and being actively anti-racist, I'm learning & listening. What I say impacts many people, so I use my voice to advocate for @okta employees and actively support equal rights and fundamental civil liberties. If one of us is not free, none of us are.

These aren’t protesters. These aren’t guerilla artists. This is THE CITY OF DC doing this. A public works department is using actual roadway paint for this. This isn’t going away any time soon, and that’s the way it should be.

This morning, while explaining to my 7yo that his grandmother *also* had to go out and protest for equality when she was a kid, and also face police brutality, he said "Well, maybe this time will be the LAST time."

... and now all the adults in my house are crying.

#BlackLivesMatter is defending a 75 year old white guy while the "ALL LIVES MATTER" crowd are defending the cops who shoved him down and concussed him. In case you were wondering who actually believes all lives matter and who just wants to defend police brutality.

Okay, I've seen a number of people on social media share this #8cantwait campaign. I wanted to put my thoughts (and those of others) together to explain why this campaign is a bad idea.

I want to first start by addressing each of the 8 policies.

Got one of those "camlink" USB converters because I was curious about em, and WHOAH I was shocked. UVC output, 20ms delay and signal looks to be properly grabbing 1080P@30. Single chip solution under a small sink and costs under $20. What in the heck is this.

The real reason why there’s no sound in space.

Seattle lifted their curfew, cops haven’t tear gassed or shot at anyone, and protests are still completely peaceful at midnight. Wow it’s almost like if the police don’t attack, protests don’t magically turn into riots when the sun goes down

I think “a few bad apples” spoiled the bunch, because I don’t see how anyone could ever trust the police again. I know I can’t.

The tear gas wasn’t tear gas. The photo op wasn’t a photo op. The protests weren’t peaceful. The death toll is exaggerated. The virus isn’t that bad. The economy doesn’t need any more help.

All they have left is telling us not to believe what we’re seeing with our own eyes.
