sometimes I reply to an email or slack message in my head, and only later realize that I did not in fact send the reply. this leads to undesirable results.

The goal isn’t to get comfortable on camera, it’s to stop caring that you’re uncomfortable on camera

This slight perspective shift might help you/your clients increase realness/authenticity and... get comfortable on camera

overheard in work slack: So far this week, my only exercise has been trying to click the "Leave Meeting" button before the "Ended by Host" dialog pops up. #QuarantineLife

@aaronpk no, I am in Europe. I guess the issue is not the HDMI port, which it has, but that it does not have that software feature.

    Aaron Parecki
I'm not sure what you mean by "software feature". The HDMI port will output a feed of just the video signal which you can run into the ATEM Mini or any other device.

Of course you can attach files from Files in Gmail.

Yeah it turns out it was a new feature they were rolling out slowly and it wasn't available to me yet.

Remember, "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" is impossible. A modern equivalent is "charging your phone with its own battery".

@aaronpk ah okay. Because I own a G70 and I thought about streaming, but the G70 does not have the feature to pass the video to another device... 😕

    Aaron Parecki
The G70 is the G7 in the US right? That should have an HDMI port on it!

When I started working in a local office for the first time in a couple decades a few years back, I was surprised how often there were organized social activities. This is now spilling over into my comfy remote-worker space and I'm not sure how I feel about it. :-)

The number of virtual happy hours and social events at work I've been invited to has skyrocketed. I've been self-employed or work-from-home for the vast majority of my career. Is this how much work-social time is normal *at* the office that people are now lacking?
