Why, when you unsub from some mailing lists (usually ones you never signed up for) do they feed you this BS line about “may take ten days to unsubscribe you”. Really? So my unsub request went to a really busy guy who will have to locate my email address manually and erase it? 🤯

omg I just saw an excellent twitter thread about this the other day https://twitter.com/joe8bit/status/1156312965265707013

Another Canon related question for the twitter verse today.

If you plug two condenser microphones into the c100/c200 xlr inputs can you get them both on mono recording?

I’d want to use this as a streaming camera and not buy an additional mixer.
    Aaron Parecki
Merge the audio in the video switcher! The ATEM Mini can do it! My video next week shows a demo!

Jack Dorsey followed Mastodon on Twitter a month ago so it's not like he doesn't know Mastodon exists, take from that what you will

We have thousands of open source architects, engineers, and designers who have been contributing to decentralization & building community (like #indieweb) over the past 15 years.

It's safe to say we're extremely invested in the free and open internet, so we're here to help.

I’ve tried it and it’s kinda bad (for how I listen to music).

aw sad. I'm all in on Spotify right now but I kind of miss when I was more actively curating a music collection.

    OMG!!!

For ever developer who was ever screwed over by Twitter, this is the ULTIMATE troll.

Seriously, can someone whip up a reference website of the 99 times Twitter dangled an API & then yanked it away?

Not only do these standards exist at IETF and W3C and Twitter has never played fair with them, these existing standards were partly designed/informed by folks who jumped ship from Twitter quite some time ago. Full circle, I guess. Meh! https://twitter.com/jack/status/1204766078468911106

I’m so ready to move all my music to Plex. iTunes in Catalina is a mess.

It’s probably a bad idea to start a new project building a Plex client music player, right?
    Aaron Parecki
That's a fun idea. I haven't looked into this space at all in ages. Looks like Plex Labs has a thing maybe? https://medium.com/plexlabs/introducing-plexamp-9493a658847a

I'll repeat what I tweeted about it: the hilarious thing is that they could take their budget for this initiative, slash it by 90%, distribute the remaining 10% to like 2 dozen Patreons, and thereby do approximately 1000% more to create a viable decentralized social media standard and implementations.

Hi chaps, we may be able to save you a lot of effort, as we already have a set of open standards developed by the #indieweb community and standardised through w3c - micropub, webmention, websub and more in development with microsub too http://chat.indieweb.org for more
