    OpenID != Open ID Connect?
    Just learning about authentication, OAuth, and OpenID Connect and purchased your book!
    Aaron Parecki
    Thanks! OpenID Connect is actually OAuth 2 plus an identity layer, and has nothing to do with OpenID 1. While useful, OIDC doesn't solve the same bring-your-own-identity goals that OpenID 1 did.

    @aaronpk no need to apologise, it's amazing and hope to be able to contribute. I'm not sure about the Notifications channel is that specifically to set up feeds you want alerts from like social mentions etc? So can I set up a feed that needs an Auth token passed in the header?

    Aaron Parecki
    That's the idea yeah! Still very much in the works, and I'm experimenting with a few different ways of handling it. Right now I have my webmentions going into that channel. It would be totally appropriate if you wanted to add a private feed into that channel!

    Monocle just got real fancy. I can now set a default account for each channel from which responses should be sent. (Stored in my Microsub server, not in Monocle, so it can work across clients). Monocle recognizes when alternate accounts are available and provides an account switcher UI in the footer. Any "like/repost/reply" actions are then sent via that account instead of to my main site!

    Aaron Parecki
    Not a bad idea! Is the speech recognition in Google Docs actually better than YouTube's built-in transcription?

    Add method to remove entries from a channel

    Users may want to remove an entry from a channel for various reasons. Since #4 tracking read state means we now have referenceable entry IDs, we can use those to also remove entries from a channel.

    @aaronpk I have to say, I'm loving what I see. Despite the warnings I've given it a go but can't seem to get any of the feeds to update, is there a trick to it?

    Aaron Parecki
    Thanks! Yeah it's a bit of a process with a few moving parts right now. I'll eventually make it easier to get going. Thankfully for now @ascraeus.org wrote up some pretty good instructions!

    @aaronpk that’s looking wondrous. Any tips on running it, or is it still too flaky?

    Aaron Parecki
    "Flaky" isn't the word I would use, how about "experimental"? πŸ˜„ I've committed to using it every day for the last week or so, and even turned off a bunch of my IRC sources to force myself to use it. It is changing rapidly though as I keep adding features, so it's not exactly "stable."
