19 Aug 2017 Thinking about building a page on my blog that collects and shows all #Webmentions that are not specific to a post, like a mention on Twitter to a tweet, etc. Brid.gy collects this type of mentions. How other #Indieweb people handle this?

Great idea! There are some examples here: https://indieweb.org/mentions

Hm, okay good point. But hosting on other people's sites is a loss of control isn't it?
    Aaron Parecki
@samwilson We have that with simple web hosting but lost it with the rise of Twitter/Facebook/etc

    Aaron Parecki
@samwilson As long as you have the ability to pick up your content and move it elsewhere and keep the same URLs you're in control

The #indieweb is all about hosting things yourself, but actually I find doing so to be enormously stressful. Sysadmin-ing is a profession.
    Aaron Parecki
@samwilson The #indieweb is all about owning your identity and being in control. You don't have to self-host to do that!

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
