  • Day 77 - Wind

Day 77. Just a quick mostly piano song, I feel a little bad that the other instruments feel kinda forced on top.

  • Day 76 - Music Box

Day 76. This is an oddly detuned music box. I was actually trying to find a more gentle music box sound but this is all I could find. I tweaked the EQ a bit to remove some of the lower "boomier" part of the sound, but it's still not as gentle as I wanted. In addition to the music box shifting in and out of tune, the other parts intentionally don't quite line up on the beat, and the reverb on the piano and violin is cranked up really high, so this whole thing should end up feeling slightly unsettling.

  • Day 75 - Dark

Day 75. I used more complex samples than I normally like to, as a shortcut to build up this much sound. (I didn't get started until really late today and needed to do something quickly). I added a few of my own instruments on top though, and tried to give it some shape other than just what came with the original sounds. I kind of want this one to keep going for a while longer!

  • Day 75: Improvements to the Webmention Wiki Page #100DaysOfIndieWeb

I've been feeling like the Webmention page on the IndieWeb wiki doesn't do a very good job of explaining what Webmention does for users, and jumps too quickly into spec details. I would like to be able to direct people at this page when I am talking to them online about what Webmention can do, which often means what I am trying to show them is how Webmention can be used to display comments and other interactions on a website. Today I started to make some incremental improvements.

Are there any security implications of a website knowing whether you have the 1password browser extension installed?

This page will find out whether you have the extension installed, and it could send that information back to my server.

Type something into the box below.

@theosanderson What's the URL encoding scheme you use for the #upgoerfive editor? I see the text is encoded in the URL but it's not base64

  • Day 74 - Amaretto

Day 74. I started with the piano and layered stuff over it until I felt "done". There's a 4-part choir, a solo violin, and 6 french horns. The video is me recording the piano track, I liked that the two parts overlapped but never actually hit any of the same notes.

  • Day 74: Added a Chat Widget to my Website! #100DaysOfIndieWeb

A couple weeks ago, sknebel asked whether anyone in the #indieweb channel had a chat widget on their website. I used to have a form you could fill out and it would send me an SMS to my candybar phone, and a little while after that I had a prototype of a chat widget that disappeared somewhere along the way. I thought it would be fun to resurrect that idea!

#lazyweb I need a scheduling + subscription application with the following features:

    1) allow people to fill out a membership application, which is approved by admins
    2) supports multiple membership levels with different recurring pricing (e.g. $50/mo, $100/6mo)
    3) allows booking time in a space, at different rates depending on the membership level
    4) bonus points for being able to register for group classes

So far looking through Stripe's recommendations, everything I've found supports only one of these features! https://stripe.com/works-with/categories/booking-ticketing https://stripe.com/works-with/categories/recurring-payments

  • Day 73 - Detuned

Day 73. The piano track here goes a 1/4 step in and out of tune very slowly throughout the song. I wanted to try out a new instrument today, and I found the Dilruba, an Indian stringed instrument, which has some nice articulations in the samples.
