    I can't believe I'm seriously considering getting an analog video door intercom over a digital one. I just don't like the idea of the system running an outdated version of the Android OS.

      @aaronpk You are sort of a bare metal guy, I take it, not like OS or stuff. Like run directly on the transistors, and not even a 0 or 1 level in the middle.

      @aaronpk Dude! I think you are spot-on there. Analog is good. It's how some telephone landlines STILL work all these years later. More analog is more better. Embedded OS if you have to (QNX, WindRiver, etc.) but not that bloated, un-updateable vers. of Unix. Not for an IoT device.

      @aaronpk Hmmm. It makes me wonder whether a building could be set up with long-lived analog systems that work by themselves but that also offer easily accessed wire terminals for whatever else the occupant wants to hack in.
