I forgot that I already had an AppleScript action in @KeyboardMaestro that does this 🤦‍♂️

    https://share.cleanshot.com/Dp6XLS7MGnjzg0TRkwsq

I made an "App: Keynote" folder that only activates for that app

That AppleScript is exactly what I was looking for, thank you! ✨

The only minor inconvenience is that it sets all slides to unskipped afterwards, but that's fine for how I'm using it in this case!

    No prob, man :)

And, if you want it to not do the "unskip" thing, just comment-out lines 39-41

    https://gist.github.com/chris-79/4ffb9318c42cb3d0a0e8e7d670cfd332#file-export-current-slide-to-png-applescript-L39-L41
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah that's tricky, because if you don't skip all but the selected slide, then it exports all of them. Ideally there should be an AppleScript action for exporting only the selected slides, but I don't think that exists.

  • How to create a keyboard shortcut to export the current slide in Keynote

Lately I've been using Apple Keynote to create graphics for using in videos and blog posts. It's a quick way to arrange things on a page, copying and pasting most things just works, and there are enough built in shapes and tools to get the point across. However, after spending a full day creating graphics for a video, I found myself frustrated by the number of clicks required to export a single slide at a time.

Anybody have advice on good bookkeeping software for a small #indieweb business? Is QuickBooks really the best game in town?

    Aaron Parecki
This year I switched from QuickBooks (Desktop) to YNAB, which isn't exactly business bookkeeping software but I am choosing to use it that way. So far it's been nice, but we'll see how I feel about it once I have to send reports to my CPA.

It's not something I hear people talking about, so I'll just throw it out there.

    #OpenAI isn't open.
It's received $1 Billion in funding from some of the biggest names in venture capital.

What happens when these investors influence the output of #ChatGPT? How would we know there's a bias?

We should be literally afraid of one company, who owes so much to so many other entities, being seen as a future all-knowing answer source. These VCs will get a return one way or another.
    Aaron Parecki
when I first heard about OpenAI I was like oh cool so it's like open source AI? oh, no it's not open source, but at least the API must be open then? no? I have to sign up for a paid plan? 🤔

@aaronpk I know, right!? I guess there's no rules about what you can name yourself... but if it's the opposite maybe it crosses the line.

With all the hubbub around password managers today I’m so grateful for the foresight my mother had when she was younger changing her maiden name to a randomly generated 18 character word that resets itself every 30 days. #InfoSec #Security #LastPass

I feel the same way. I recently purchased an RG351v in hopes of playing the games that I loved as a kid. It lasted all of two days and now the device sits in my drawer :/

    Aaron Parecki
wow that one looks nice too!

The games I liked as a kid were: snake, Commander Keen, Warcraft, Starcraft, SimCity 2000, and that's pretty much it. My favorite Switch game is Mario Kart.

But now my games are building little indieweb tools and stuff.
