I had no idea these "time since last opened" pill caps were a thing and also so cheap, and now I want to make these for all sorts of different reminders, like

    • when did I last feed the cat?
    • when did I last pump up my bike tires?

Wyze.com had door sensors that were inexpensive; hard to order now but they showed online when a door or two surfaces were last moved apart or together.

Same. Started using these a few months ago. Had to first think of the idea and thought about how to do it myself, then searched and found the product (and was relieved it already exists), which isn't how I usually find products!

When did I last get more toothpaste? I want a burrito, when did I last get vegan refried beans? And other important questions

of course, it would also be tied into my home automation system so I could surface that data on other devices around the house.

I'm imagining an esp32 with OLED screen and a nice push-button switch. Pretty sure I could fit that into a neat 3D printed case.

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Senior Security Architect at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming and dabble in product design.

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
