Folks, if you fly right now try NOT TO CHECK LUGGAGE. If you are able to just go with a carry on for your trip, do so. It gives you a lot more options for flexibility when the airline industry falls on its face.
Seriously! I was already pretty adamant about not checking bags before, but it's gotten really bad!
Thankfully the gate checked bags for the tiny planes don't throw your bag into the checked baggage system -

It is SHOCKING to see how much cellular data some apps use. Lightroom, I get. I shouldn’t have opened it. But IMDb? All I did was look up an actor! Toggling off the high data offenders to not make those mistakes again. Ouch!
I'm guessing at least 80% of that IMDB usage is loading their ads 🙄 -

I imagine the live streaming gear is continuing to get close to pushing you over the carry-on limits….
See this is why I like the yolobox so much, because it ends up being really not that much stuff at all! I'm even able to still fit the drone! -
I somehow ended up with not one, not two, but three separate hotel reservations for my trip next week, and I am baffled as to what part of my normal travel process failed that caused this to occur.

Actually I think the problem is that we are now forced to use TripActions, and TripIt doesn't know how to parse the flight confirmation emails from TripActions, so I no longer have a single view of my travel anymore -

I’m looking into it, apparently they register a Google voice in your name, your reply with a code and they take over your number and cause mayhem https://news.trendmicro.com/2021/11/04/google-voice-scam-facebook-verification-code/
I think the end game is to get a google voice account which gives them a number to use for other scams. You need a real phone number to verify a google voice account. I don't think it has anything to do with you personally, or using your name/identity in the further scams. -

I guess that’s why I never understood it bc I use a Google Voice # for transactions like this.
They'd get an error message trying to verify a google voice number with another google voice number and I'm sure they would just give up after that and move on. My main number is a google voice number I've had for almost 15 years now 😅 -

TripActions app has its own itin, are you looking to add events to the TripActions itin?
Nope other way around. Sometimes I end up booking things outside of TripActions, like when I book a hotel with a conference group code. -

Or are you looking to send TripActions bookings to TripIt?
I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but I really don't want TripActions to be the source of truth, I'd rather keep that in something that doesn't actually book tickets or pay for things for me like TripIt.

@AlaskaAir if someone is traveling with me on the same itinerary and I have 75k status, shouldn’t their boarding group be the same as mine? Just checked in and this is not the case
In my experience the gate agents will have no problem letting them board with you regardless of what's printed on their boarding pass. -
If that means dropping the tools I use and love, as opposed to gracefully integrate with them, that doesn’t sound too good 😛 I use TA only for business and intend to keep it that way.
