There's some sound #indieWeb advice from @LauraKalbag here at #naconf

    πŸ‘‰ Self host where possible
πŸ‘‰ Post to your own site first, then publish to third party apps
πŸ‘‰ Your site will be better than Medium anyway πŸ˜…

I love hearing @LauraKalbag encourage people to avoid using Medium and instead create your own website #IndieWeb #naconf @naconf

If @LauraKalbag's talk is making you think about your own web presence, go look into the #IndieWeb movement. I'm still new to it because I never have time to work on my blog, but in theory it what I am aiming for! #naconf

Crap. About to fly and hadn’t synced any music to Spotify offline.

Been there. Frantically hoping it downloads on my spotty cell service from the runway.

My brain hurts. I have an old Philips Hue @tweethue bulb and it appears that it’s flickering at 50Hz, even though I’m on 60Hz power. If I set the camera to 1/50th it’s fine… 1/60th it flickers. Of course all other lights are fine at 1/60. How is this even possible.
    Aaron Parecki
Ohh I think my old ones do that too!

oo does this mean the ATEM mini has a permanent home on your desk?

Well spotted, and yes. This changes a lot of things for me, actually. I may very well rip out the entire live broadcast studio.
    Aaron Parecki
😱 wow that's a change! Definitely looking forward to a behind the scenes of the new workflow if so!

    Aaron Parecki
oh yeah! I saw it came out and it was on my queue to watch on the plane tonight, but then I had to cancel that trip. I am looking forward to watching it very soon tho! 😊

Hmmmmmm. If I get a spurious Twitter 2fa code, that means they already had my password, right?

When I tried in an anonymous window just now, putting in a wrong password doesn't get me to the 2fa.
    Aaron Parecki
Could also be someone trying to add your phone number to another Twitter account and it's a verification message. I can't remember if their 2fa messages and phone number verification message text are the same.

Oh that sucks. Where were you supposed to go?
    Aaron Parecki
Just down to SF for a day. I'm going to do a remote workshop for them instead, probably using the ATEM Mini actually!

I got "XXXXXX is your Twitter login code. [...]", which sounds pretty reasonable.

But maybe their phone verification message is just wrong. ^_^
    Aaron Parecki
ok I was curious so I just tried the SMS verification and got "Your Twitter confirmation code is XXXXXX"

I tried a 2fa challenge and got "XXXXXX is your Twitter login code. [...]"

So yeah I can't think of another way to trigger that unless someone got past the password prompt.

Ok I just watched it, and wow great job πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

That was a *lot* of videos in videos in videos, must have required either a ton of setup time or a ton of post-production, or both!

Both. Most time I’ve ever put into a non-client video. Pretty ridiculous, but it was fun
    Aaron Parecki
    It does look fun!

Oh that reminded me -- the way that you connect the X2 to YouTube with that temporary code -- building and teaching software developers that kind of thing is literally my actual job!
