    It seems to be socially acceptable to watch videos on your phone with the sound turned on in public places like restaurants and cafes in Memphis. I've seen *so many* people of all ages here doing it, and nobody seems to complain. Is this a regional thing?

      @aaronpk that’s disturbing. I don’t see that here in SF. Every so often there’ll be someone watching a video with audio on transit, but they get “the eye” for it.

      @aaronpk I haven't been to Memphis since before this was accessible technology. But it does seem more common in St. Louis than in Seattle. (And is blessedly rare in Amsterdam except among tourists.)
