Hey, do you ever close out of an app, only to scroll through your list of apps and reflexively open the exact same app again?

    Maybe I'm the only one.
    Aaron Parecki
Sometimes I scroll thru all my apps and put my phone away and then open the exact same app on my iPad πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

@aaronpk hey! the eink/raspizerow thing you showed at XOXO, is it open-sourced somewhere? would love to do something similar
    Aaron Parecki
I haven't published the actual code I used, but it's all based on the examples from Waveshare anyway: https://github.com/waveshare/e-Paper

The real work was in gathering the data in the first place, then it's a matter of drawing rectangles on the screen.

thanks! what's the epaper display you were using?
    Aaron Parecki
It was the Waveshare "HAT" version for the Pi Zero. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the whole contraption ends up being almost an inch thick. I'm going to try it again using an esp32-e-paper combo device that's as thin as just one board!

wow, a three color eink display? haven't seen that before
    Aaron Parecki
"three color" -- black, red, and white (no color). kind of misleading IMO.

I actually used the "two color" version, black and white.

The things people carry on their bikes in Amsterdam never cease to amaze me. In just 15 minutes at this cafe I've seen people carrying: a guitar, children, a rug, grocery bags, a suitcase, two large dogs, a bouquet, four cases of wine. I love how absolutely normal it is too.

while this wasn't in #Amsterdam, and I ended up walking with my bike for the most part IIRC, this is how I picked up a free #microwave here in #BodΓΈ, #Norway:

    https://mastodon.social/media/fIxN-dpbarbGS1h8u3k

I attached a vegetable #crate to the back of my #bike and stuck the microwave oven in it. Forgot to bring more rope to properly secure the oven in it though, but it survived the trip, and has served us well for over a year now :)

    Aaron Parecki
Excellent! I've seen so many crates like that attached to bikes here!

well, I do originally hail from the #Netherlands; about 20-30 minutes by bus from #Amsterdam, so it's probably in my blood.πŸ˜…

When you don't have a car / driver's license, you learn to improvise. :)

You should've seen me when I picked up a #secondHand #PS3 and #XBox360 + accessories and games with my bike. Two fairly heavy bags attached to the front of my backpack with carabineer hooks, and the backpack itself also loaded. Prob not the safest way, but you gotta make do. πŸ˜…

My editing workflow goes something like.

80% of the time is on the initial cut to line up the main audio and main talking head points.

15% of the time goes towards a second cut for B roll.

5% of my time is me sick of the process and throwing some random music in.
