    @Indie_Auth are twitter profiles still supported? Any idea why http://www.madmode.com/ isn't working?
    Aaron Parecki
    @dckc Your Twitter profile links to madmode.com but your website is www.madmode.com @Indie_Auth

    @aaronpk I don't see any UI for delegated openid auth, so I pick MyOpenID, and it still uses that, even after remove & re-add.
    Aaron Parecki
    @Brironic Now I'm confused. Are you on IRC? Might be easier to continue the discussion there: http://indiewebcamp.com/IRC

    @aaronpk I don't think StackOverflow supports OpenID 1. Will IndieAuth support OpenID2?
    Aaron Parecki
    @Brironic I'm able to sign in to stackoverflow just fine, did you encounter an issue with it? #indieauth

    @aaronpk My scan fails for the http://profile.google.com/user, lacking the rel=me back to my site.
    Aaron Parecki
    @Brironic Looks like you have your website in the "Links" section of your G+ profile, but it needs to be in the "Other Profiles" section. Try adding it there, and G+ should add the rel="me" markup to the link.

    @Indie_Auth @aaronpk Can't figure out how to add rel=me links to Twitter/G+ for #IndieAuth.
    Aaron Parecki
    @Brironic We've been seeing sporadic failures with Twitter the last couple days. G+ should work fine though. I'm tracking the SSL issue here: https://github.com/aaronpk/IndieAuth/issues/40 #indieauth

    @Indie_Auth @aaronpk Wish I could provide an MD5 hash of my SMS# for IndieAuth, rather than posting it in the clear.
    Aaron Parecki
    @Brironic Yes, this still needs some further thought. Feel free to chime in on the wiki! http://indiewebcamp.com/IndieAuth#Selectively_Displaying_rel-me_Info #indieauth

    @t @indiewebcamp If I use IndieAuth to sign in to a web site, does that website get my email or other info from the authentication provider?

    @TomOnTheRoof No, the only thing returned is your URL. See "Verify the token" here: https://indieauth.com @t

    @nickstenning There's an issue open specifically for PyPi support: https://github.com/aaronpk/IndieAuth/issues/37 The error message is ridiculously unhelpful, so if the problem is that PyPi doesn't support OpenID 1 then that would be a good reason to add OpenID 2 support! Please add to the issue if you have any thoughts on that! #indieauth

    @nickstenning No current plans, given that most consumers support version 1. I'd be curious to hear use cases for OpenID 2 delegation. Feel free to open an issue on GitHub to collect ideas! https://github.com/aaronpk/IndieAuth/issues?state=open #indieauth

    I really dig IndieAuth (http://indieauth.com). Would love to see the process be more human-first when things go wrong.

  • IndieAuth now supports OpenID delegation!

    You can now use <a href="https://indieauth.com">IndieAuth.com</a> as an OpenID delegate! This makes it super easy to move off of myopenid.com since it will be shutting down in a few months.

    would be cool if apple's touchid could act like goog authenticator –– that is, use the fingerprint as a way to generate a token for app auth

    @naveen Totally! As soon as there's an API in iOS I'm going to make a TouchID plugin for IndieAuth.com!

    @fdevillamil Thanks for the notes!

    Re 1: adding rel=me is a manual step right now if you're editing your own HTML. However as @barnabywalters pointed out, this is really "exposing important problems further up in the chain" (http://waterpigs.co.uk/articles/indiewebcamp-signin-ux/) It's also entirely possible that an identity hosting provider like about.me would add the markup automatically.

    Re 2: This is not quite accurate anymore, given my recent work on distributed IndieAuth (see http://indiewebcamp.com/distributed-indieauth and http://spec.indieauth.com/ for more background). It is now possible for each person to delegate to an IndieAuth server of their choosing, rather than the relying site choosing which IndieAuth server to use. This makes it more resilient to failures.

    Re 3: The cultural issue of associating your online identity with a URL rather than an email address has been the subject of much debate for a long time. I would also be open to suggestions on how to handle changing domain names, and whether that should happen at the IndieAuth layer or at the site you're logging in to. Feel free to add things to the wiki! http://indiewebcamp.com/indieauth

    @aaronpk ... and the other is that I'm not going to link to my personal site from Twitter right now. :-/
    Aaron Parecki
    @blaine Then luckily there are a number of other providers you can use that you wouldn't mind pointing to your personal site! Google+ is one of the best for that since they allow you to add multiple URLs. #indieauth
