Good, but "amid fears that the Supreme Court could" is not a phrase we should ever have to say https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1549517371416760321

my parents bought their house in 1976 for $58,000. in 2022 dollars, that would be $279,160.

their 2022 assessment valued the house at $2.09 million.

i don't think getting married at 34 instead of 24 is the reason my generation can't buy homes. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

I feel like this leaves out the vast majority of systems which are neither particularly usable nor secure.

Made a new illustration to use in my slide decks.

I often talk about choosing where on the security vs usability dial you want your systems to be, so I figured it was time to have a visual for that.

People wonder why I keep a windows PC ready to go at all times.

Team I learned my lesson with macOS Catalina, I'm always ready for the next OS to be utterly terrible and force me back to windows.

So I use a non-apple NLE and keep my PC up to date always.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah this is the reason I wait until the x.1 update of MacOS

That actually go against your community guidelines.

This isn't the first time this has happened but tbh, this is what drives people away from using YouTube to build their businesses and makes us turn to building our own email lists and promote Patreon over YouTube memberships.

What a time. This is a hardware emulator for a floppy drive. It’s successfully will lie to any and all systems and present itself as a floppy drive with a disk inside, and then write to a USB key 😘 https://amzn.to/3ySGWtR

Urgent reminder: the economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the environment. Fixating on short term growth while the parent company teeters on the brink of collapse is a myopic as it is negligent.

holy shit. how is netflix able to stream such detailed film grain on highly compressed video? bc it's made dynamically client-side.

they interpret the film grain characteristics from the source video before compression, then rebuild it on decode

We got tricked by science fiction into thinking a futuristic city is all about flying cars and crystal towers and hologram billboards but what it really looks like is nice apartment blocks, good mass transit, pedestrian zones with shade trees and safe bike lanes.
