I thought it might also be a genetic thing, but I love cilantro. So maybe there's an inverse correlation?
    Aaron Parecki
Total anecdata: I still love truffle, but recently started despising cilantro, even tho I used to enjoy it ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I'm not here to food shame at all, but I can't be the only one who thinks truffles taste awful, right? Not that I'm into mushrooms, but even the oil smells and tastes overwhelmingly stale to me.

Is this like a cilantro thing?

I'm always sad when I hear an indie company's acquired, especially when they're as successful and dearly-loved as Bandcamp is. Companies like those are so rare and an acquisition always brings uncertainty about the future: something indie artists already have more than enough of.

We rebuilt our entire frontend for Crunchy Bridge from ground up, threw out SPA, all request response traditional now... velocity is better, product is more polished, quality is better. Not sure there was a downside.

TIL about "solar canals". Place solar panels *over* existing water canals to (a) keep water from evaporating, (b) cool solar panels to make them more efficient, (c) prevent growth of weeds, etc. in canals.

Imagine the default was that you had to give all seminars speaking through a cardboard tube, and you could pay $100 to remove the tube for the seminar. Would you do it?

And do you expect to give at least one zoom seminar before the pandemic is over?

Something tangentially related that I've been looking into is the indieweb movement. The idea is that you self publish what would be your tweets or w/e on your own site, and syndicate it to social media, taking control of your data away from corporate platforms.

So he came back around. Funny thing is that when he was far off he put on his left turn signal like he was just gonna head to Burnside. But then he saw me still there and jammed on the gas and went for the intimidation move and blew out his front right tire! Bwah, ha, ha, ha!

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
