Thank you so much for recommending my videos, @keith51032020! I've been using @Wacom tablets in my teaching for about 10 years now and it's been a game-changer.

@aaronpk: I'd be happy to chat out strategies & share experiences as helpful!

  • Stream a USB webcam to HDMI on a Raspberry Pi

This post exists to collect my notes on displaying a USB webcam on the Raspberry Pi HDMI outputs. This is not the same as streaming the webcam (easy), and this is not for use with the Raspberry Pi camera module. This is specifically for USB UVC webcams.

It's not that I underestimate what people can do but like you said yourself, a feature that can be unlocked or also maybe a ratio that states only 10% can be modified which is really what us creators are asking since most mistakes can be fixed with a 5-10 second edit.

I agree it’s a solvable problem. YouTube scans every frame and every note. They can easily compare old to new, permit xx% change, permit change based on channel history, flag for human review questionable changes. And let us at LEAST change the video before it’s ever been public.
    Aaron Parecki
100% on these! Some % threshold changed would be reasonable. And definitely replacing an unlisted video before it goes public seems fine!

I was mainly pointing out that it's not as simple as people might think at first.

Not really, they could show a tab that displays the history of all the edits. People can go back and watch to see what changed and in turn add more watch time benefiting the algorithm.
    Aaron Parecki
I think you might underestimate the creativeness of people acting in bad faith on youtube. I agree it would be a great feature for legitimate creators, but unfortunately we have to consider the ways people would take advantage of it too.

The ability to re-upload a video without it losing the URL. This means if you made a mistake it can be corrected. Vimeo does this don’t understand why YouTube doesn’t implement this feature.
    Aaron Parecki
There's so many ways people could take advantage of this in terrible ways. That said, it seems like it could be a feature that gets unlocked if you meet certain criteria, channel age, monetization, copyright claims etc

I think that THE way to do this right now is to get an ATEM Mini ISO or Atem Mini Extreme ISO. That refers to ISOlated recordings of each channel. This is what I know @aaronpk does, and @Alexpettitt describes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn1MAfBQck8
    Aaron Parecki
the ATEM Mini ISO is probably the cheapest way to do this tbh. You can cobble it together in software with multiple capture cards but that's gonna be more fragile in the end, and not much cheaper either
