Not really, they could show a tab that displays the history of all the edits. People can go back and watch to see what changed and in turn add more watch time benefiting the algorithm.

I think you might underestimate the creativeness of people acting in bad faith on youtube. I agree it would be a great feature for legitimate creators, but unfortunately we have to consider the ways people would take advantage of it too.

The ability to re-upload a video without it losing the URL. This means if you made a mistake it can be corrected. Vimeo does this don’t understand why YouTube doesn’t implement this feature.
    Aaron Parecki
There's so many ways people could take advantage of this in terrible ways. That said, it seems like it could be a feature that gets unlocked if you meet certain criteria, channel age, monetization, copyright claims etc

I think that THE way to do this right now is to get an ATEM Mini ISO or Atem Mini Extreme ISO. That refers to ISOlated recordings of each channel. This is what I know @aaronpk does, and @Alexpettitt describes here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gn1MAfBQck8
    Aaron Parecki
the ATEM Mini ISO is probably the cheapest way to do this tbh. You can cobble it together in software with multiple capture cards but that's gonna be more fragile in the end, and not much cheaper either

Large companies find HTML & CSS frustrating “at scale” because the web is a fundamentally anti-capitalist mashup art experiment, designed to give consumers all the power.

Sorry I didn’t quote tweet anything in order to say that.

paying for a netflix subscription and then also paying for a vpn to get region-locked stuff you're not supposed to have has got to be the weirdest form of piracy
    Aaron Parecki
I don't understand how the VPN company ads flat out state this as one of the reasons to use them, like surely that can't be legal?

also i cannot stress this enough: if your ISP can spy on your traffic, and you use a VPN to avoid that, then whoever is hosting the VPN can spy on exactly the same traffic

We’re now at nearly a decade of consumer Retina laptops being shipped and yet Linux DEs still fail at fractional scaling on a massive level. In fairness, Windows didn’t handle it well until about 5 years ago, but now it handles it beautifully even with multiple screens.
