At this point I just instablock anyone who shows up in my mentions with the name of any coin or crypto* in their profile. If they self-ID with it then nothing good happens.
    Aaron Parecki
I kinda want to automate that now...

the power went out at 6am with no indication of when it'll be back, so I hand ground some coffee beans and will now find out if you can make french press coffee with hot tap water

I think you will find the Bitcoin fanboys are more than willing to debate/discuss with anyone who has some valid criticism of Bitcoin.
    Aaron Parecki
I'm sure there are some completely reasonable people willing to discuss it. However those are not the people in my mentions right now 🙄

One of my snarky tweets about bitcoin has been amplified into the bitcoin enthusiast areas of Twitter. Having to consult Urban Dictionary to decipher acronyms in my mentions now ("HFSP")

"Spotify is letting employees work from anywhere — while still paying San Francisco and New York salaries" 😍. This is making Twitter and Facebook look awful with their if-you-move-we'll-dunk-your-pay policy. Same remote-capable work, same pay 👏 https://www.businessinsider.com/spotify-unveils-new-remote-work-option-for-all-employees-2021-2?r=US&IR=T

I think you misspelled scamcoin! Considering it is all a ponzi scheme: create from thin air, convince others to buy, let them convince others to buy, repeat like a pyramid and the first who enters and exits, wins, rest need to keep on convincing otherwise they won’t profit….
    Aaron Parecki

I was just woken up by a big POP of a transformer and all the power out. You could ice skate across my lawn and there’s a good 3/4” of ice on the branches outside 🥶
    Aaron Parecki
Same! Power came back up twice for a few seconds and then *pop* again

It honestly feels like an important step towards saving the planet is to either carry out a successful 51% attack against Bitcoin or work some kind of cryptographic flaw into Bitcoin core and break the whole thing that way

Oh yah. I've been working on this all day. I've tried all types of configurations. On. Off.

I actually caught some of your livestream today.

Next steps are to try OBS and do a delay through that.

At least I have a sync now with the Cam Link. Just wish I could use the USB-C.
    Aaron Parecki
well best of luck! Blackmagic support is very nice and happy to help with stuff too!

I tried that, even with the 2i2 plugged into the computer. The Atem didn't register or find it via the 1/4 to 1/8 cables.

I'm really beginning to think I have a bad Atem unit.

I'll be contacting Black Magic tomorrow. Maybe even an exchange with B&H.
    Aaron Parecki
That definitely should work. Did you double check the mic vs line setting in the ATEM config for that input?

The 2i2 doesn't have a standalone mode for power. It's dependent on the USB power to/from a computer.

I can't even run the existing cable into a power adapter. It HAS to go into a computer.

Focusrite did outline units that have standalone power: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-gb/articles/360006972619-Which-interfaces-can-I-use-in-standalone-mode-without-a-computer-
    Aaron Parecki
oh funny, but that shouldn’t matter, run the line outs into the ATEM anyway, or does it not even have a way to pass its input to the line output? I coulda sworn it did but it’s been a few years since I’ve used a Scarlett device

I agree. But I can't do that with the Focusrite 2i2.

I would need to look at getting a new interface to go into the Atem.
    Aaron Parecki
What didn’t work about running the 2i2 line out into the ATEM Mini? That shouldn’t be a problem.

I always power it off when not in use. I have a dedicated power bar that it's going into.

Why they didn't build a power switch in...?
    Aaron Parecki
I do think it was a mistake to not include a power button, likely because this is the first prosumer device they’ve made. All their other stuff is for commercial and broadcast use where the expectation is it’s on 24/7

Audio is via Rode Procaster into a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 that does DIRECTLY into the MacBook Pro.

Audio does not go into the Atem Mini.

I can't power the Focusrite 2i2 without it being plugged directly into the MacBook Pro.

    Tried that today ⤵️

aha, I would’t trust the computer to be able to bring the two in sync, it’ll be more reliable to run the audio into the ATEM, then you ensure the audio and video are in sync before they reach the computer. (In case it’s not clear, I don’t trust computers for anything realtime)
