5 years ago today I started my YouTube channel.

I remember thinking “wow I’m so late to be starting my channel in 2015”.

It’s never too late to start. Just make vids. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made. ☺️

Every time an Intuit recruiter reaches out (frequently for some reason) I ask them to describe the job, then I say “Sorry, I’m just not that into it. Heh heh heh.” and the joke just never hits.

I simply cannot tell you how it feels to transport a patient out of a Covid ward and into a hospice, spend 30 minutes deconning the ambulance with bleach, and then have to argue with the next patient about whether Covid is “real”. I just don’t have the words.

Remember when you were a kid playing group games and there were always a couple kids who just kind of ignored the rules and the teacher always said “you’re ruining the game for everyone!”?

    That’s what COVID-19 feels like.

Atom content can be a MIME type. Carousels are a presentation option.
    Aaron Parecki
Sure, you *can* represent anything with Atom because at the end of the day it’s just XML and you can extend it however you want, but then you also have to convince other people to consume that XML for it to be useful. This is what I meant by actually go try it.

Don’t forget that RSS is by definition unable to evolve to include other richer post types than just blog posts. Atom you could start to shoehorn other things into by adding namespaces and such. But does anyone really want to keep writing XML?
    Aaron Parecki
Meanwhile, Pingback has nothing to do with Atom/RSS and has always worked with arbitrary web pages. That too was XML for literally no good reason, so that’s been simplified into the Webmention protocol

Don’t forget posting things other than blog posts and text. You want to post a photo? Sure you could embed that in a blog post I guess. A video? now it’s getting tricky. Maybe use Atom enclosures? Posting multiple photos to be shown as a carousel like instagram?

Okay now we're getting somewhere. Likes I can do without. Some kind of support for discussion feedback is worth having, whether something from IndieWeb, or building off the original ping back servers, or a disqus-like thing. Yes, something beyond RSS/Atom but maybe not instead of
