I really strongly believe that we should be judged not by how we acted when we were ignorant, but how we responded when we were informed. By that measure, Jenna Marbles is head and shoulders beyond a great many YouTubers.

I think y’all need to hear this: cancel culture is just cyber bullying, not activism and people need to know that distinction. Normalize people making mistakes and learning from them. Normalize people gathering new information and taking accountability. Normalize growth.

Unfortunately, this requires the pre-existing condition of "caring about other people", a test America continues to fail.

Wearing a mask is the SMALLEST of sacrifices one could make, shows empathy and humility, and apparently that's the breaking point for some people.🙄

This is a vibe. Don't go back to normal. Check out some of the ideas and solutions at https://dontgobacktonormal.uk/ (seeing the IndieWeb, SSB and Signal mentioned on here; in good company). Even banks owned by people and cooperatives?

Definitely a people-centric world I wanna be in.

TODAY'S THE DAY! We launched this mini side-project https://dontgobacktonormal.uk. 5 years of research, trying and testing and exploring the tools and methods to create more ethical infrastructure for society boiled into a webpage haha. Choose tech w/ good privacy, standards, ethics...

I'm honestly curious, how does any company get this point? Does A/B testing show this works? I can't believe anyone doesn't bounce from a page like this

Hi. Tailscale is built on WireGuard, which I would tend to call layer 3. Could you be more specific about what you're aiming to do?
    Aaron Parecki
I'm trying to create a "travel kit" which will connect back to a vpn server and make any device on the remote end available from the network on the vpn server end. Ideally with instructions that can be followed by someone with no networking experience.

    Lots of docs here. https://tailscale.com/kb/Solutions
    Aaron Parecki
There's, um, a distinct lack of actual documentation on those doc pages. They seem to be marketing copy about potential uses.

@aaronpk you should check out @Tailscale for your vpn needs on the ATEM Mini project. It puts everyone on the same network with very little set up.
    Aaron Parecki
Got any docs on using it to make a layer 2 vpn? I think that's what I'm looking for.

My conspiracy theory is that time travel IS real & someone keeps trying to fix 2020 by changing something but every time they do, they unwittingly make it worse. How else do you explain the sudden disappearance of murder hornets? They saved us from those but at what cost?!?!

When the pubs re-open, it doesn't mean the virus has gone away. It just means they have room for you in intensive care.

    6. ESRI is a petty, anti-competitive bully whose muscle for innovation atrophied 20 years ago. The people that work there are overwhelmingly smart, kind, and competent. Much of the world runs on their products and their commitment to bettering the world is genuine. ☯️

Here’s a thread of 10 strongly held opinions I have formed about the “geospatial industry”:

    1. The most successful and ambitious mapping project of all time, Google Maps, is an advertising platform. There is no “geospatial industry,” only industries with spatial problems.

I’m extremely happy that Safari will support the WebExtensions API in macOS 11. Even better, they’re adding the support in a privacy and security centric way. Bravo! 👏🏻
