I fell into a deep deep Internet hole today and ended up designing and buying parts for a raspberry-pi cat feeder built in to an Ikea shelf that doubles as a scratching post and bed, cat-climbing wall art, as well as a drink-mixing robot built in to an Ikea coffee table. Amazingly, all the parts are coming from Ikea, Amazon and Sparkfun. I've got some fun projects ahead of me! :-)

Support discovery of hub+self in HTML <link> tags

The PuSH 0.4 spec says hubs may support &lt;link&gt; tags on HTML pages. It would be great if Superfeedr supported this, to allow more sites to use it. Some web frameworks and hosting environments make it difficult or impossible to set HTTP Link headers, so HTML tags would be the only way to do this.

    > In the absence of HTTP [RFC2616] Link headers, subscribers MAY fall back to other methods to discover the hub(s) and the canonical URI of the topic. If the topic is an XML based feed, it MAY use embedded link elements as described in Appendix B of Web Linking [RFC5988]. Similarly, for HTML pages, it MAY use embedded link elements...

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
