@aaronpk Same-ish. My Gvoice is what I give out to everyone besides family and legit friends that I'd actually answer a call from.

    Aaron Parecki
Update: all these comments coming in pushed me over the edge, I just got a new number to use with my phone for iMessage with trusted contacts. I'll keep my GV number as my public number.

    Aaron Parecki
Right now it's legit my only phone number, but I'm getting to the point where it's annoying that I can't activate iMessage on it. I'm seriously considering moving to a real SIM, but can't decide if I should port my GV number or start from scratch

@aaronpk Did the link also take you to a broken page?

    Aaron Parecki
It took me to a page where the most recent photo was from 2013 which I guess explains why I have no idea what this is

@aaronpk about the same. Seems like the only time I used it was a span where I used my Google voice number as a primary SMS number back when that was powered through Hangouts.

    Aaron Parecki
Oh no, my primary phone number is still google voice, and I'm just waiting for the day where they shut that down. Should probably deal with that sooner than later 😬

Congrats Google, you have written one of the most vague and unhelpful shutdown emails ever, yet somehow I am not surprised.

Update: it turns out the most recent content I have in whatever this is is from 2013

I've had calls about property we don't own. I've told the caller that I don't own that property but will certain take money for it anyway. Nobody has taken me up on that offer.
    Aaron Parecki
That'd be a pretty good deal if you can pull it off

Anyone know what scam the β€˜we want to buy your house’ people are running?
    Aaron Parecki
I get those calls too. But I don't think they've been by the house in a while because I tore it down last year. Pretty sure they don't want to buy it in its current state πŸ˜…

That's the TLDR. The longer version is explaining the intricacies in how the implicit flow relates to OpenID Connect and all the combinations of response types and response modes

To me the fallacy is- why do most people even need to know anything about it? The choice of what grant to use should be enshrined in SDKs and platforms. The details should matter to very few people, outside of troubleshooting.
    Aaron Parecki
I absolutely agree, the problem is certain platforms *ahem* still haven't fully made the switch

It’s like parenting. Coaching people on security issues is like parenting. You gotta say the important things, over and over and over. Endlessly. Without losing patience. They forget, they get distracted, they have other things to do. Remind them often.
    Aaron Parecki
Sounds a lot like advertising/marketing too. I suppose that's true with everything.

About to order a Mac Studio and 15” MacBook Air to replace my 16” MacBook Pro M1 Max. The question is do I make videos around them?
    Aaron Parecki
tbh go look at the comments from large channels on related videos that you'd do and see what the viewer community is like.

I should have done that before I made that Remote ID video because 😬😬😬 notice how I haven't posted another video about that since 😬

@aaronpk you absolutely need to hook this up to some sonification too. Simple static for packet noise, syncopated rhythms for jitter, weird sci-fi squelches for traffic bursts.

    Aaron Parecki
oh wow that would be fun

Again feeling the desire to build a new open source social website platform that natively supports feeds, ActivityPub, ATProto, with an integrated reader and mobile client.

Oh yeah, I don’t have any time for that and there isn’t a market for it πŸ€“
