Maybe we should all start referring to Elon as "she" and waiting for her to correct us, then we'll see who's forcing their pronouns on who πŸ˜‡

1Password isn’t perfect but there is nothing, to me, that would make paying for Bitwarden (no, I do not want to self-host my password manager. That’s how you get ants) better than paying for something from people I’ve known for 15 years. But that’s just me.
    Aaron Parecki
"that's how you get ants" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I agree tho, the new 1Password has some issues compared to the previous version, but it's still better than the alternatives.

Submitted our business name change request to IRS nearly two years ago, and it still has not taken effect. Calling them on the phone (the only way to verify EIN) results in "we're too busy, call again another time." Guess I'll just keep calling every day?
    Aaron Parecki
I had to do the same to verify my 2020 returns. I had to file my 2021 returns even tho my 2020 weren't processed yet.

Eventually I started calling every day the minute the office opened, and one day finally got through with only a 2 minute wait.

β€œForcing your pronouns upon others” - what the frack does this even mean?

Nobody is forcing anything on anyone. Respecting people’s choice of pronouns is just a nice thing to do. It costs you nothing and shows respect for your fellow humans. Nobody is β€œostracized” by this.

@aaronpk cool. I’ve been making hot sauce for a couple of years now, but it’s been almost exclusively lacto-fermented. I’ll have to give something like this a try.

    Aaron Parecki
I recently tried doing that and only one of the three batches I made was edible 😬 and it scared me off doing any more fermentation experiments πŸ™ˆ

Oh nice to see! Nothing too surprising but good to see the sub-scenarios for BFF, token mediating backend etc spelled out. And a good reference for token storage options

Glad to hear it! Suggestions are welcome right now, we're getting close to wrapping it up!

I sometimes wonder who some of the folks there are who I am β€œfriends” with.

There are friends who I know, and then…

Sometimes I am reminded of people I last talked with nearly 10 years ago and I don't know what happened there

Not sure what you mean? If a creator deletes on of their video, it’s gone from YouTube
    Aaron Parecki
Sorry yeah, I was talking about your recommendation of unlisting *instead of* deleting. Unlisting it would only prevent new discovery of it, but wouldn't stop people from viewing it from their watch history or by sharing the link.

Deleting a video removes it from every viewer’s watch history, which could affect future recommendations

Fine if you want to change audience, but if you just don’t want the video visible, unlisting it and removing it from playlists is the way to go!
    Aaron Parecki
Interesting. That also suggests a viewer who has already watched it could go back in their history to find it and watch it again. So it's mainly just gone from recommendations and new viewers, but not actually impossible to watch again, right?

@Aaronpk wondering.. are you still maintaining live-chat-overlay? Seems that a couple of us have experienced an issue with GetOverlay not working anymore which breaks the external key workflow

UX team was so annoyed about the RFC8252’s recommendation thing got a little heated. I think after reviewing potential risks they will follow suit, hopefully.
I’m presenting them your book as a good will sign. It might be seen as provocation, though 😬

Ah yes, classic. I'm curious if this is a first party or third party use case. We can take this to dms jf you want

It was rather an argument with a customer, actually. Yet settled with a morning coffee, thankfully.

Oh do tell! If anything was unclear or ambiguous, I would love to know! I'm in the middle of updating that with the OAuth 2.1 draft so now is the time to fix it!
