AWS SSO opens a browser with the code embedded as a query param, then you login to your account, while the CLI is polling for changes from AWS to get a valid auth token after authn is done. I use `open <uri>` on macos for this.
    Aaron Parecki
Yep, that's the OAuth device flow! That's how I would expect to see it in most places now.

“Open the browser and enter the following code” isn’t usually how these flows work.
    Aaron Parecki
Some do! But further down it says the CLI app can launch the browser on the machine if it has the ability to do so. Same flow under the hood tho.

The other option is for the CLI app to spin up a web server on localhost to catch the redirect https://developer.okta.com/blog/2018/07/16/oauth-2-command-line

Have you tried the airport’s own website?
    Aaron Parecki
This is the best suggestion so far but is sort of hit and miss depending on the airport

To watch be sung or to sing. If the latter, we definitely need to hang out in person at one point so I can see this.

And fine, fine, I'll sing too lol

    Aaron Parecki
do you know how to get Google to show you *all* inbound flights to a particular airport? I can't seem to get it to do anything unless I tell it where I'm traveling from.

people are even better at assuming YouTube gives a shit at all. just look at how they're dealing with the comment bots issue.

if you do a search you can see a lot of creators talking about this exact thing - they've also said shorts don't impact your channel's weight in the algorithm, and there's plenty of evidence to the contrary.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah I'm not convinced. People are good at finding patterns where there are none. I do wish YouTube would just tell us one way or the other though, it seems like it would benefit everyone to have a clear answer either way.

One year ago I started an experiment. I moved my live YouTube shows to a whole new channel, on the theory that the live shows on the main channel, which get great views while live but then very poor views after (which is understandable), were hurting the main channel. 1/🧵

what can happen though is a string of underperforming videos basically signals the algorithm that this channel just isn’t working. so a bunch of live streams could do that.

a string of SEO friendly videos that do very well could pop you out. don’t go for quantity.
    Aaron Parecki
I still believe that YouTube wouldn't be so ignorant to consider livestream performance the same as uploaded video performance. They even give you different metrics in the studio for each type so I don't think this is far fetched.

I recently flew in to Austria and the only check for covid related docs was at the airport in the US before I boarded. Landing in Vienna was just a regular passport check.
