Apparently my 75K Alaska status converts to OneWorld Emerald so I get access to the fancy British Airways lounge! Not going to argue with that!

Nothing here is self service, you have to order on your phone using the QR code on the table, and you have to give it a code word that's shown on signs around the lounge, which is a clever solution to avoid people ordering random things to be sent to random tables after they leave.

I'm at the gate at LHR now and the automated PA announcement just said "for security reasons, unattended luggage will be removed and destroyed."

And then repeated the announcement in German, and then I learned a cool new word, "vernichtet"

Made it to London. Closed my eyes for about 5 minutes during takeoff and landing, can't say I was totally asleep tho. Now to go find the airport lounge since I have about 2 hours at LHR

Oh they have sparkling wine in the lounge, it's never too early for a mimosa!

Airport security line was ridiculously long and there was no priority lane. Made it through after about 30 minutes. No line for the foreign passport check so that was a breeze. Now at the Open Sky lounge to get some coffee

It's 6:45am in Germany and I'm on my way home, and operation No Jetlag begins! I Land in Portland at about 7pm, so I just need to stay awake for about 24-25 hours now.

    Testing for the return flight
    Aaron Parecki
Overall it took more time to find this place and book an appointment online than it took to get here on the train and do the actual test and get back to the hotel.

@aaronpk is an expert on streaming things but probably not with Linux but may have some ideas.
    Aaron Parecki
Might want to check out Companion https://bitfocus.io/companion/ which can control OBS and much more with a Stream Deck. I run it on a raspberry pi to control a bunch of devices on my network.

@aaronpk have you ever seen a hdmi device that can flip signal horizontally and vertically. I’m trying to build a telemprompter out of display that doesn’t have v flip or h flip built-in

Is this not a feature anymore?

    Aaron Parecki
It's still there but I think it requires a Micropub Media Endpoint so it can post the data to the Micropub endpoint as JSON

It seems simple to set up... I would, though not while my site is hosted on a hosting control panel as oppose to a bare server... unless you know whether Plesk can support Lumen? i couldnt' find anything.
    Aaron Parecki
I didn't package this up for easy deploying on shared hosting. It will run, but you'll need to be able to either run SSH commands to install the dependencies, or do that on another machine and upload. I'm also not sure about how well the background tasks will work via cron.

I got an electric cargo bike a few months ago (a Tern GSD). It's the best. I love taking the kiddos to school on it. Also, @austinenergy just sent me a $300 rebate check.
    Aaron Parecki
Awesome! I've had my eye on that one too. For hauling stuff tho, not kiddos.

My mac says "Your screen is being observed" on the lock screen. How do I tell what app is doing this?? I've already turned off screen recording permissions for all apps in the Privacy section. And rebooted.
    Aaron Parecki
Update: I found the app causing the "Your screen is being observed" message! It is the drivers for the 3dconnexion SpaceMouse! Why that needs screen recording capability is beyond me.

Teams can absolutely be high-performing when working remotely. This is a hill I will die on. It just takes leaders with empathy who are willing to trust their people.

@aaronpk, isn't Compass open to the public anymore? I think I used it a year or so ago, but now I get a "User Not Registered".
    Aaron Parecki
It's open source, but I decided I didn't want to host people's GPS data for multiple reasons so I turned off new user accounts on my instance a couple years ago.

@aaronpk Are you planning on doing any research on the new Atomos ATOMX Cast? Nobody has yet done a comparison with the Atem Mini/Pro.
