I hope so. And thanks very much!

Don't come visit my studio until I've had a chance to do a few more tweaks to it 🙈

Actually, maybe it is a criticism. The readers take...more effort to listen to, some how? That doesn't make any sense to me but I guess I can see why people like @ycombinator explicitly warn against it when pitching.

If I’m doing a talk live, I will 100% not read from a script. However, if I’m publishing a prerecorded video, I’ll read from a script and heavily edit it down. I also find that when I am writing a script that I will be reading on camera, I write in a *completely* different style.

@aaronpk have I done something wrong here? Holes for the nameplate don't line up with the monitor stand for the diy extreme print. Not a big deal as I'll probably do my own thing here anyway, just checking.
    Aaron Parecki
oh gosh thanks for the reminder, I uploaded the wrong faceplate design! I'm going to push out an update through Gumroad shortly.

Eventually I am going to a tour of my editing station and my other setups.

I WILL not be cleaning off my desk. I use the thing. Deal with it 😂
    Aaron Parecki
honestly a tour of a studio space that hasn’t been meticulously staged would be much appreciated

Apparently, #NAB is on for October. Who's going?

Fav: Meeting up with other creators and viewers.
    Aaron Parecki
I really want to just to meet everyone but I'm not yet convinced it's a good idea just yet.

@aaronpk Are the STLs for the ATEM Mini Extreme stand available for purchase yet? I've been trying to find out how to buy them but I'm not having any luck, apart from the unboxing livestream you did where you mentioned they will be for sale.
    Aaron Parecki
They are! It's linked from the bottom of here https://pk1.tv/pk1-extreme-atem-mini-stand/ and I sent out the link in my email newsletter on Wednesday!

As I understand it, you're basically purchasing the "provenance" of the content. It's a direct, provable chain of ownership from the creator to the buyer.

Once I wrapped my head around an NFT as a "certificate of authenticity" it made a little bit more sense? I think?
    Aaron Parecki
but all it proves is that you bought the certificate of authenticity

What do small open source projects use for storing notes, documents, collaborating on things? Having a Nextcloud instance feels like overkill, and we all know Google Docs is a non-starter.

    Aaron Parecki
We use a MediaWiki instance in the #indieweb community. It's by far the best wiki platform even if it isn't based on markdown.

I still don’t understand what exactly you’re buying with an NFT. You’re not buying the actual piece of art, you’re not even really buying anything that conveys ownership. So you’re buying a number to say you own the one number tied to the thing you don’t own?
    Aaron Parecki
actually I think you understand it precisely

I need a social clue for in-person discussion playing the same role as unmuting oneself on Zoom.
Raising a hand is too much, and relying on people reading generic body language is hit and miss... especially in our industry 😛
    Aaron Parecki
I had the same thought today, waiting patiently for my spot in the queue while listening to the arguments I was going to make unfold around me. Didn't want to interrupt, but did want to add my thoughts.

I have actually only done one (work) stream with no pants. It was pouring rain on my bike ride over, so I threw my pants in the dryer at the studio rather than sitting in drenched pants for 3 hours.

Every time I think “I should start vlogging more again” I am very quickly reminded how often I hang out at home in my underwear and how I don’t want to sacrifice that.
    Aaron Parecki

I've moved countries but I can't update my Google Play settings to reflect the new country without deleting my child's whole Google account, thereby losing all purchases and everything he's ever done in his games.

I cannot download regional bank and online shopping apps on my Google account because I have a child younger than 13 on my family account, unless I opt to delete his account.

    Absolutely idiotic.
