I've now waited 6 months for affiliate revenue from B&H (Earnings from Oct 2020). After 8 weeks of emails, a check showed up.. but it has no account numbers printed on it, so it could not be deposited. Is anyone else having difficulty with B&H lately as an affiliate? (1/2)
    Aaron Parecki
Oh gosh my check came today too, also missing account and routing number... how do you fail to print checks that bad?

They can pay you for an insert only. You make whatever, segway (segue) to sponsor message, back to video. When it’s for the whole video, ah...no.
    Aaron Parecki
But if you have just a sponsor message inserted in the middle of the video, you still wouldn't say "this portion of the video is sponsored by" because it's obviously the sponsor read

When did it become a thing to have a sponsor in a video but say they’re ‘sponsoring THIS PORTION of my video’?
In my 13 years of doing sponsored videos I’ve never once said that.
    Aaron Parecki
I have been wondering this same thing! Especially when the entire video has some connection to the sponsor and it's not just a sponsor read in the middle. And even if it was, that'd still be them sponsoring the whole video. I don't get it.

i'm sure there are people who care about the environment more than the grift, and i hope you're one of them. until they win out over those who care only about the grift and use pos & flimsy arguments to paper over their active hatred toward the future, i won't go anywhere near.

Thanks, but the whole dispute process explanation is very victim-blamey, and doesn't even leave open the possibility that copyright claims might be filed fraudulently.
    Aaron Parecki
Update: I contacted Artlist and got their lawyers involved and magically the copyright claim was released! I'm glad it was so easy for them to resolve that, but I also hold to my original statement that the YouTube ContentID dispute process allows false claims far too easily.

If you get a claim that you think is invalid, don’t hesitate to dispute. Losing a dispute won't risk strikes or other consequences to your channel as long as it's done in good faith. More on the dispute process here: https://youtu.be/v65RpZ88bUk

    #924 Feature request: Auto update

    Aaron Parecki
While auto updates are useful, there should be a way to opt out of them. The version check process is potentially a privacy concern since it will leak info about the instance.

@YouTubeCreators I got a fraudulent Content ID claim on my video for a song I licensed from @Art_list_io. This isn't the first time this has happened. There isn't a good process for resolving this. Help?

I once tried a Pelaton at the mall and wasn’t super impressed with it, especially after they told me about the price tag and the monthly fee. Like why would I pay for that when I could buy a similar bike and use my own tablet and access anything I want for free?
    Aaron Parecki
I was expecting this to turn around at the end of the tweet! 😅 I have to say I agree wholeheartedly

Look, I've got it somewhat going. It still needs a lot of tweaking, both back-end and front-end (it looks horrible). But it works!

Monday around 1pm Pacific I’ll go live while editing. I think this will work; sharing my 6K retina screen over a 4K stream so you should be able to see perfect detail. Potentially there will be commentary from the peanut gallery. Sub now so you don’t miss

The old school machinist in me feels a little bit of joy every time I add a feature to a resin-printable design that would be impossible to produce on a mill or lathe.

    Aaron Parecki
I'm gonna have to experiment with resin printing next. So far I've been learning the limits of FDM

Heres a sample with 6 months difference between the two.

Someone needs to tell me how to effectively get the table in the shot like that. How close is the camera to the surface of the desk? Are you looking down at the camera in these?
