Here's a piece of information that will send a chill down the spine of anyone who's ever designed a database schema:

Our new house that we just moved into... has two zip codes!
    Aaron Parecki
My apartment is physically in one zip code, but the front door faces a street with a different zip code which is what you have to address mail to. This screws up many online forms.

@aaronpk thanks for today's stream. You mentioned that you use Supersource+another capture card with zoom somehow. Do you have a brief note or video about it? Or maybe you can point me to some resource how to do it?
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! Yeah it's a bit of a trick to explain and I haven't written it up or done a video about it yet, but it's on the list!

Hey, remember when we thought it would be cool to store a couple million emails into a MySQL database, including their text/html parts?

    Hahaha, yeah, good times >.<

That table's somewhere around 28GB now.
    Aaron Parecki
I mean, it didn't *not* work...

@Fastmail live up to the name, have a better UI and all around better features
    Aaron Parecki
I've heard pretty much only goo things about Fastmail, maybe it's time to finally give it a try. Only problem is I'd have to also migrate my family to it since we share a domain name for email.

    The world is listening, Aaron.
    Aaron Parecki
The easy trick is to play intro music and run a countdown timer while people trickle in. It gives people a chance to adjust their headphones/speaker volume, and also gives them a concrete time they know things will start.

Most home studios and even churches that buy a Hyperdeck are not using a rack shelf. It sits next to their ATEM/Pro/ISO/Extreme. To use it wit an ATEM MINI you need two sdi to hdmi converters and a hdmi to sdi 6G to record 4k 30 FPS.
    Aaron Parecki
I'm confused about the 6G converter, wouldn't you just need all 3G converters since the ATEM/Pro/Extreme is 1080p max anyway?

@aaronpk Aaron; Would you consider creating a stand for the Hyperdeck slanted with spots below for two sdi to HDMI convertors and a HDMI to SDI 6G input Convertor and at least monitor attachment on the top?
    Aaron Parecki
wow this is very specific! I might need you to tell me more about the use case for this to better understand how broad of a market it might have

@aaronpk this has been randomly happening to me in Chrome on macOS Catalina. Restarting the app doesnโ€™t make a difference but eventually it just corrects itself. Glad I am not the only one.

    Aaron Parecki
Weird! I turned off GPU acceleration in chrome and restarted it and it went away for now. Not sure whether it was the GPU acceleration or just restarting chrome that fixed it

Latest source of outrage on the Italians in Seattle group: this appalling piece- i really want it to be satire, but it doesnโ€™t appear so ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Most of those names are absurd and caused us to recoil in horror at the thought anyone could take this seriously.
