You need to move to Notion, also 10279 unread emails! 😜
    Aaron Parecki
I like notion for organizing stuff but it's horrible for scripts. Copying text from it into the teleprompter app never works, Notion likes to treat text like little blocks of things so selecting text never works right.

Fair enough, but it's the 'someone who wouldn’t actually have a job' language I object to.

Salespeople can't sell products that don't exist; product makers can sell things without salespeople.

In terms of who is reliant on whom for a job, it is very much a one way street.
    Aaron Parecki
Can't say I know which direction you're suggesting this street goes...

Attempted to analyze your schematic while it was up on the screen briefly during the broadcast. Did the computer only run Zoom for back channel, or did it have other roles as well?
    Aaron Parecki
I didn't mention it in the diagram but we were both also using the computer to do the chat overlays, but that's entirely optional. Other than that it was just for zoom.

Great live show today @photojoseph @aaronpk ! Have either of you experimented with using iOS devices w/ clean HDMI output on the ATEM Mini? Curious if routing back channel audio from an iOS device would be simpler than Zoom via a computer. Looking forward to your next collab!
    Aaron Parecki
Thanks! The zoom setup isn't that complicated really, but you could also use FaceTime for the back channel and not even mix that audio or video with the ATEM at all.

BTW - a good app to try for showing latency is Emerald Time - which directly connects to NTP servers and shows time to tenths of a second. More accurate than your phone's internal clock, which doesn't constantly update from NTP. http://emeraldsequoia.com/et/index.html
    Aaron Parecki
Ah awesome thanks for the link!

It appears we’ve now shifted to the point in my feature request for Windows Terminal where people don’t get the joke and are very mad. It took us 18 hours so I’m proud of us for lasting this long with good humor.

Thanks! Rotation doesn't help against the theft itself, only alerts afterwards. I'm not familiar with sender constraints, but probably difficult to implement for public clients? Cookies would be a simple and proven solution, at least for *browser-based* public clients.
    Aaron Parecki
Yep I agree, there's a draft I'm planning on taking to the group to suggest exactly this.

Hi @aaronpk, do you know if any OAuth provider like Okta allows to set refresh tokens as HttpOnly cookie and whose token endpoint reads that cookie? Asking for a browser-based public client which can't safely store refresh tokens outside of memory otherwise.
    Aaron Parecki
That's non-standard behavior so I'm not sure anyone is doing that. But there is some discussion about bringing this idea into the working group for standardization.

It’s always a goal but rarely does anyone succeed at getting a high number.

I had a test case where I had verbal call outs and when I didn’t. The one with call out had 7-15 people join. The video without?

    Zero.

That video also had 5x more views than the others.

    Data! 📊🤓
    Aaron Parecki
This is good anecdotal data! I will also say I rarely watch videos in full screen, so the like button is always right there. The rare exception is something I've decided ahead of time to watch more immersively like a movie, and chances are I'm already subscribed anyway

Hi, I'm Aaron Parecki, Director of Identity Standards at Okta, and co-founder of IndieWebCamp. I maintain oauth.net, write and consult about OAuth, and participate in the OAuth Working Group at the IETF. I also help people learn about video production and livestreaming. (detailed bio)

I've been tracking my location since 2008 and I wrote 100 songs in 100 days. I've spoken at conferences around the world about owning your data, OAuth, quantified self, and explained why R is a vowel. Read more.
