@aaronpk Ok, this is magic that I need to learn more about. Also, it's pretty clear that Mastodon is not going to be the killer app to supplant the dominant social media players for most people.

I don't necessarily recommend this path for everyone, but I implemented ActivityPub (the spec Mastodon uses) into my own website, which was definitely a lot of work, but does mean I can reply to Mastodon users without using Mastodon itself.

The iPhone 12 had consistently died on me after about 12 hours off the charger every day for the past week. Needless to say, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone that needs solid battery life. It seems worse than the Pixel 4 XL, but somehow it isn't getting the flack the Pixel 4 did.

wait, what phone does better than 12 hours off the charger?

#lazyweb I want a tool where I can add like 3 or 4 possible times and send someone a link, and they can view the times in their own timezone and then select one of them from the list. Bonus if that results in a calendar invite being sent to both of us. Does this exist?

UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that I have been using Fantastical by @flexibits and it in fact has this feature built in! Amazing!

@aaronpk It does. Use the “propose another time” button to add multiple times and then add the people as attendees. Here’s a video explanation.

Holy crap this is exactly what I had in mind, I had no idea! I've been using Fantastical this whole time!

@aaronpk I use Fantastical from Flexibits for that. It’s not cheap, but it works very well and is hence worth it.

Wait I also use Fantastical but I wasn't aware it had a scheduling feature like this?

Looks like Doodle wins! I'm annoyed it forces me to connect my calendar since all I actually need is the time chooser bits, but it does work like I want it to!

I do like calendly but it's overkill for this since it requires setting up a meeting type or giving someone full reign over choosing any open slot in my calendar

and to be clear, I explicitly do not want a full on scheduling system like @Calendly for this (which I do use and enjoy, but this is a different use case)

I would add a telepromter with a ring light for presentations, maybe overkill for meetings but looking exactly at the camera makes such a difference..

Teleprompters are cool, but add a lot of bulk to the setup. Plus good ones aren't cheap. You can also just train yourself to look at the camera when talking to people instead of looking at the screen.
