Has anyone's #Alexa recently stopped playing #Spotify? Ours has been infuriatingly crap recently and are now a useless waste of money that won't do their one job, so we're instead playing music through our phones 🤷🏽‍♂️

    Aaron Parecki
I've never tried playing from Spotify, but now when we say "Alexa pause" to pause the news briefing, then try to start back with "Alexa resume" she's like "okay, playing [something random]" and it's like really come on.

    @aaronpk
So, have you heard of any progress on the horizon towards a self hostable identity/authorization login service yet?

Still waiting for the day that logging into another Fediverse service is as easy as logging into a new website with Facebook...(or at least that we can see progress towards something like it...) #Mozilla #Persona looked good. Not sure if #ReclaimID is going anywhere. I'd love to hear about it if something is moving forward somewhere...

(Not sure if #Oauth related or not)

    Aaron Parecki
I'm doing a talk at #APConf about exactly this... how the fediverse can use #OAuth to achieve exactly this goal! https://conf.activitypub.rocks/

In the past few weeks I believe I tried most of the conferencing sw, Teams excluded. Here they are, ranked from best to worst in my experience... YMMV. For me, Zoom is amazing - on every device.

    1. Zoom
    2. GotoMeeting
    3. WebEx
    4. Google Meet
    5. BlueJeans
    Aaron Parecki
and Zoom handles poor network connections the most gracefully!

@aaronpk any thoughts on small remote cameras to livestream for community sports events. GoPro over wifi? I cant see a way to connect more than one. Connections: prob have to stick to wifi, cat6, or SDI due to distance (oval) and potential damage by sport. Keep up the livestream!
    Aaron Parecki
Great question! The answer definitely depends on your budget. Great question for the forums though, post it there and I'll give you a longer answer, and other people might have an idea too! https://forum.livevideotech.today

Why can’t Sony just put the video files in the root folder?

It’s so weird going into “PRIVATE > MP4ROOT > CLIP”

Not intuitive to first time users and annoying for professionals.

In the case at hand, the echo cancellation is too slow, as the CPU is overloaded.
    Aaron Parecki
Frankly I'm amazed that level of aggressive echo cancellation works at all!

You're describing a possible UA behavior, not the proposed standard.
    Aaron Parecki
Have you read the explainer? Given who proposed it and their description of how they plan to use it this seems like a fair statement.

Is it WhatsApp or is it iOS that kills video calls once you background the app? I’ve been having a lot of sporadically dropped calls with WhatsApp solely with iOS users (and degraded video quality).

    Aaron Parecki
Probly whatsapp not using iOS APIs properly. I can have Zoom calls in the background for a long time

That's weird! The issue seems to be with the footage from the same source. Could you share a sample file with us through a direct message so that we can test it at our end? We'll stand by! ^Shivangi

Thanks for sharing the information, Aaron. We've got your back. Have you tried resetting the preferences yet: https://adobe.ly/3822gPa
If that doesn't help then try changing the renderer to Software Only: https://adobe.ly/2vWB85T
Let us know how it goes. ^NK
    Aaron Parecki
same same. I reset preferences and changed renderer. It still happened again. Pretty consistently after playing a dozen or so clips in the project window.

I can imagine a lot of thought was already spent on this :) Is a public client which uses a client certificate solely for the purpose of obtaining a private key bound token considered credentialed?
    Aaron Parecki
The text in the spec is "Clients that have credentials and their identity has been not been confirmed by the AS are designated as 'credentialed clients'", so that includes dynamic registration or the client bringing its own certificate, so yes :-)

How do you find the new "credentialed" term? Been wondering if a better name could be given to this in-between class of clients
    Aaron Parecki
Suggestions welcome, but I like that it's pretty descriptive: "credentialed clients are clients that have credentials"

I'm so sick of men saying they support women being entrepreneur's and doing their own thing, only to turn around and make 'jokes' about wanting a girlfriend so that they can do their laundry. Hello? Sorry, I think you dropped something called SELF AWARENESS.
    Aaron Parecki
ew what? I don't want anyone doing my laundry but me!

I have it set up to pull my YouTube videos back to my website as blog posts that embed the YouTube video. I mostly consider my YouTube content separate right now, mainly because I am actually trying to play the YouTube game.

I think I saw your first reply in my micro.blog feed. This one showed up as a webmention but there was no content in it.

Yeah! I've been giving sneak peeks on my livestreams, but once I get things a little more polished off I'll do a proper video on it! (Wait til you see what I have planned for the ceiling lights!)
