Hm, want it to grab graphics, formatted text, everything
    Aaron Parecki
oh yea not this then. I actually often use it specifically to remove formatting from text I've copied.

I’ve been using “Clipboard History" for years. It’s acting up a bit… went to see if there’s a new version… last updated 8 years ago. Oh. Guess it’s time for a replacement. Anyone got a favorite clipboard history manager for macOS? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/clipboard-history/id420939835?mt=12
    Aaron Parecki
It's plaintext only, but I'm a huge fan of Flycut.

TIL there is a `rel="payment"` draft spec for podcasters. Not sure if any podcast player even supports this

    Aaron Parecki
Been around for a while now! Check out the list at the bottom of that page http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-payment#Podcast_Players

"Blacklist" and "whitelist" are two I have an issue with because they're really well established and concise in our industry.
    Aaron Parecki
Yeah those too. Thankfully it's not a difficult argument to make to change to more descriptive terms. Those don't actually mean anything themselves, you have to be taught what they mean. In contrast to blocklist/allowlist or variations.

It's time to end the terms "slave" and "master" in Photography https://buff.ly/2Uhk6ZM
    Aaron Parecki
I'm well familiar with this problem in the software world, and have been working to stop using these, but I feel like this week I've suddenly been reminded of just how many other industries these terms are embedded in.

still broken. you need to pop out to a real browser, not use an embedded browser.

Paul, why don’t you stand down and admit for once that you don’t know everything? The Internet has had to listen to you opine ad nauseum for decades on whatever suited you because you seem to believe that becoming wildly rich once made you a general experts on all topics.

An important note: because the mural was finished after today's window for satellite imagery collection, what you see right now is an approximation. The next collection window is tomorrow, and, clouds permitting, we'll be collecting & updating then.
    Aaron Parecki
I was gonna say, this looks photoshopped. Cool idea for pushing out imagery updates so fast tho!

We love the @JeffBezos 2 Pizza Rule about team projects here at Deity. "If you can't feed your team with two large pizzas in a meeting, you're in trouble."

I'm building a new website tonight and I ordered myself 2 pizzas. That's how it works right?

I was arrested on June 2nd, 2020 with around 100 other protesters in Los Angeles. While I was ziptied and facing the wall, two male officers joked behind me about my gender presentation: "Do you think it's a female? Are you sure?"
    Aaron Parecki
This is awful, I’m so sorry. and thank you for speaking up.

Well of course living smack in the middle of a city will most likely cost. I'm sure in a average neighborhood most could be per square foot is $80
    Aaron Parecki
yeah, totally depends on the city. in any case I'd start by asking friends in the area for recommendations of contractors, and keep getting referrals til you find a general contractor or builder who you can talk to.

Okay that's way for feasible than the 300 per Sq ft someone else said lol
    Aaron Parecki
permit fees, water and sewer hookup fees, city development charges, it all adds up. that's the price of building in the middle of a city 🤷

@NotionHQ how do I request a review for a page that was flagged as unsafe? I have a list of the gear I use for streaming shared (https://www.notion.so/jlengstorf/My-Livestreaming-Setup-9268f4e8e7fa4388bec915777735ad82) but it's been flagged as unsafe — these aren't even affiliate links, so I'm not sure what tripped the algorithm?
    Aaron Parecki
Gotta post this to your own website!

marcus.io · Making RSS more visible again with a /feeds page

    June 3rd, 2020

Personal website owners – what do you think about collecting all of the feeds you are producing in one way or the other on a /feeds page?

Sounds like a good idea! I’ll get on that.

This smashed Apple store has turned into a beautiful memorial.
    Aaron Parecki
I love it, but it's also a great way to protect the remaining unbroken glass panels. We don't know for sure, but those panels probably cost almost $500k each to replace.

When was the last time you backed up a copy of your posts from social media to a computer or disk you control?
    Aaron Parecki
All my social media posts originate from my website so I already have a backup before it's even on Twitter!
